Have you tried to update the firmware to 1.02?
Because on the note of the firmware you can see:
Release Log:
1) Improved macro execution.
2) Fixed temporary DPI issue.
Source:
Razer Mamba 4G PC Firmware Updater 1.02 for Windows XP/Vista/7 Download -
Firmware 1.02 was already out when the mouse was released, so that doesn't address it.
There is a new firmware update for the dock, though (as opposed to the mouse). It supposedly fixes the syncing issue, but I am still having problems. I boxed it up to send back today and will be sticking with my original Mamba. -
Able for sell on Amazon:

"Up to 200 inches per second/ 50g acceleration" -
Right on the previous page

Just saw it... Same size like the previous one, build and etc... good for big hand!
-
I wouldn't spent $130 on any mouse unless it was 3X better than the competition. Also 6400dpi is overkill and is the biggest waste ever. All you really need is a gaming mouse that has the standard 1600 dpi. Some of the best counter strike player (which is an extremely fast shooter) use very low sensitively to get their shot right.
It is a good gimmick however!
-
High sensitivity players need higher DPI, and in a lot of cases, 1,600 DPI is insufficient. Very few people would realistically need anything as high as 6,400, but it's not entirely a gimmick. There is legitimate math behind it.
As for Counter-Strike, sensitivity is really a matter of personal preference. I personally take about 20 inches to perform a 360 degree rotation, which is considered pretty standard low sens for CS, but there are plenty of players (professionals included) who use higher sensitivities that require greater DPI. Obviously my Mamba has waaay more DPI than I'll ever need (minimum useful calculated DPI for my sensitivity is about 260), but there are players who would make better use of its capabilities. -
For space combat sim games, being able to switch to a much higher DPI on the fly (no pun intended) can be extremely useful if you don't have a joystick.
Oh wait, they don't make those kinds of games anymore

Am I bad if I just want it for its lights? I really liked the Death Adder and the 5600 dpi Mamba, just returned my Mamba so I can get the Mamba4g with the color change option. It will look good with my M17xR3.
-
Sure.
If the lights matter to you, and that's what you want out of the mouse, then go for it. -
Intellimouse 3.0 or go home
-
just read this on forum next door ..
so much for dual sensor and the so called "4G"
-
I own the new mamba 2012 and i found out some problem the 4G feature on my mouse will randomly turn off and i have to load the software to turn it on again..and i found out it is same as the mouse with or without 4G....well yet I still like this new mamba 2012.

I tested the Mamba 4G at my local gaming accessories shop, and i noticed it had the same problem when i lifted it up and put it back down, the cursor would fly an inch to the top, at first i thought its just me, but my friends told me they experienced the same thing, truely dissapointed, i really thought Razer has listened to us and fix the z-axis issue, i dont get why they would continue using the twin-eye.
-
imo "Easy Money"
throw in optic sensor, multicolor led, then brand (read: hype) it "4g dual sensor" to make it sounds expensive,
and you can continue to sell it with the current high price. lol -
Its a shame, why cant Razer just make the 4G sensor using an Avargo Laser instead of that stupid Twin-eye crap.
-
I use a logitech m305. Bought it on sale as a travel mouse, but began using it as my main.

A4 Tech X7 anti-vibration mouse*
I have model XL-747H
3600dpi+6mode+changeable red or green led+adjustable weight+absolutely no vibration= $18
and also, 6400dpi is WAYYYY overkill for screen size 30" lower
i have the above mouse, and it works very well. no cursor movement when lifted.
that's the blue coating version, i have the green one
*designed in china lolLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
6400 dpi is just for bragging rights. It really has zero realistic use.
-
anyone what is Z-Axis issue? I mean did mamba 2012 have this problem?
-
Z axis is when you lift the mouse up vertically. The issue is that it still kind of tracks and moves the cursor a little bit even when lifted off the mousepad or other surface.
-
Logitech G9 or Bust!
-
Razor Orochi > all mice
-
for the record,
Are you not experiencing sleep-freeze issue with your orochi ? -
On wired mode or Bluetooth?
-
on bluetooth.
Or are you using wired mode all the time ? -
I've been using it wired, I set the Bluetooth up today and it seemed to work fine. I've only had my laptop for 3 days so I haven't experimented with it to much yet.
-
I see but when i lift off the mamba 2012 the cursor is not running and when i lift on the mouse pad it really do run one inch to the top =S guess it is not worth to get the razer mamba 2012...i got a feeling like being cheated by their new 4G sensor...zzzzz...
-
wow, the orochi was the worst mouse ive ever used, its just neither here nor there... poor bluetooth, way too small to be used for gaming, sleep freeze issues. After 2 weeks of consistently dropping my kd ratio, i sold it. Good riddance.
-
hey gents, i got the mamba 2012 along with the scarab pad. ive been experiencing some cursor jumps whilst gaming and working on the desktop. it gets pretty annoying sometimes and it happens periodically. so i decided to send it back in for a RMA and got myself a new set, and guess what it is still happening! so much for premium hardware for premium price. thoughts? is there a workaround to this? ive flashed the latest firmware and got the latest drivers installed. tried it both on a soft and hard mat, didnt seem to make a difference.
-
The Razer Orochi should not be used in Bluetooth mode while gaming.
The Razer Orochi should be considered a wired gaming mouse, that coincidentally happens to have a Bluetooth non-gaming mode. -
Try using it with a different mousepad (or none at all).
If that still doesn't work, return the mouse and get a Logitech mouse with an Avago S9500 sensor (Logitech G500, Logitech G700, Logitech G9x). -
did that on a table and it still skips. ill try turning off the purported surface calibration option and see if it still happens. but that would defeat the purpose of getting a dual sensor mouse for improved precision in the first place. lol i feel ripped off. meh, think twice before getting one
i can live with the z-axis issue but seriously, cursor skipping? my 5 year old mx1000 logitech first gen laser mouse never had this problem, it tracked perfectly on almost any surface. -
The "dual sensor mouse" part was marketing fluff. What actually makes a difference when it comes to mouse tracking quality is the quality of the sensor being used, and not how many sensors there are.
I don't know if this is an option for you, but you might want to consider returning the Razer Mamba, and getting a mouse with an Avago S9500 laser sensor in it (Logitech G500, G700, G9x). That sensor is considered by the hardcore mice nerds to be the best sensor you can buy on a mouse. -
cursor skipping is the new bug of the 4g sensor, spotted on imperator 4g by several people
Imperator 4g lift off freezing - YouTube
Razer imperator 4g liftoff freezing - YouTube
so pretty much the z-axis issue is not fixed, yet razer adds new bug.
same skipping is known in Orochi as sleep-freeze issue
(but instead of skipping when lifting / calibrating, on Orochi it skips when wake-up from sleep,
which is pretty annoying bcause Orochi takes only 2-3 seconds of idle to each sleep)
that's one reason I sold my orochi and replaced it with better wireless mouse. -
I know that, i went to wired mode the week after and found the shape too poor for me to palm it properly. Even so, moving from bluetooth to wired mode was darn annoying, the wire was just too much of a hassel to connect.
-
thanks for the input guys, i guess ill just tweak the settings for now and hope razer will release a firmware fix soon. based on the links ppl are saying that surface calibration works with 500hz polling rate instead of 1000hz. ill just go with that for now and see if it works.
thanks again! -
Meh, I've had no problems with mine and it's very easy to use. Doesn't really matter though, it's all about personal opinion.
-
All right the latest firmware was suck up my razer mamba 2012...it will reset all my profile randomly and all the dpi level into 1520...and while i watching video my cursor will randomly move..yet the dual sensor is some kind of useless thing i can't see the different from the other mouse....I am kind of regret to purchase this what they call premium mouse from Razer....Hopefully they will fix it assap else this is the very 1st product and last product that i will purchase from Razer!
-
I'm havine the smae issue, rarely, the dock sometimes disconnects from the computer while in wireless mode, I have to unplug the usb and replug it or switch to wired mode to make it work again.
I have updated the driver to 2.0 and the firmware of both of the mouse and dock to 1.04, and the problem still happens.
anyone here have experence dealing with this problem? -
Have you tried a different USB port or a different computer?
-
I tried another usb port, but not on a different computer .
because the problem occurs very random , I can't play world of warcraft at someone else's place for 4 or 5 hours =\
Best gaming mice? Razer Mamba 4G (6400 DPI!!!)
