I have an msi gt628 and bought a zalman nc2000 and it did JACKSHAIT. I mean it maybe shaved off 1 or 2 degrees C under furmark and fallout 3. I'm going to get this cooler tomorrow, hopefully it will perform better.

I've got CP001G one yesterday. It's mostly the same as in topic. I have Asus G72GX rbbx-05 model. Before cooler my temps were idle CPU 38C GPU 60C at stock. load tems were CPU 58-60C GPU 88C. After purchasing cooler my tems are idle CPU 36C GPU 55C load CPU 57C GPU 83C. CPU temps are not so much changed because its coovered ith plastic bottom. Anyway they are not even near its critical temps. After overclocking GPU temps are idle 55C, load 85C max(measured with HWmonitor during gameplay)

Hi, i am new in this forum, and i need help....
I bought this cooler recently (but CP001G not CP001, slight visual difference), and after using at HIGH speed with my HP 6735s on it, I am still getting 95°C temperatures when playing games :( I don´t know why, maybe it is because nb fan placement, dust in fan, heat sink? It looks like the cooler does nothing... I am desperate, my notebook is shutting down after half-hour of playing.... even now it has 75°C...
    Pls help...
    Thanks

lol I had a problem where the laptop's weight would press against the grill and would make the fan stop rotating... basically fixed it by taking off the grill and the plastic fan grill too to free the fan from being sandwiched... now the fan is rotating much better than before :p

I bought a zalman nc2000 when I got my asus g53jw, a bit more than a year ago. The gpu gaming temps were about 96 degrees celsius without cooler, and around 92 with cooler (idle 67/63 - and that's normal for this laptop, believe me). Never got better than that. With cooler, Cpu 45 (idle) to 75 (high load), hdd's always around confortable 40/50 (the left one, being closer to the cpu/gpu heatsink, getting a bit hotter than the other one).

As you can imagine, what makes me worry is the gpu. Now, the laptop has over a year, with daily stressful gaming use. ALWAYS with my zalman. And the temps are starting to go up, gradually. Now, when gaming for some time, temps go up to 99/100 degrees (celsius), and in some cases (not SUPER games, lyke crysis or dirt 3, I'm talking about, for instance, pcm 2011 or Magicka), up to 102. I can only imagine what it would be without the cooler.

Now, before you ask, I do keep my asus clean and shiny. I blow compressed air below while sucking air on the side with a vacuum cleaner every few months, etc. No, I didt open it up, because I still have warranty, in case something burns up. Maybe I will use an air compressor instead of those little weak compressed air cans... :p

I know its summer, and that has to be taken into account. But STILL, these are very high temsp.

My 3 questions for you ppl:
-Would I feel a difference with this cooler? Or would it just be the same thing, comparing to my zalman nv2000?
-Is there a way to enhance the fan speed of my cooler?
    -Anyone heard about zalman nc3000?

Shouldn't be a problem, they are polished up nicely. But what you could do is get those rubber-feet and attach it. lol but I don't think it's necessary.

So this fan blows air up (and my m17x r3 sucks air up from the bottom), will this just improve the airflow through the fan?

Of course, otherwise this cooler probably shouldn't have been built

I use my laptop in my lap most of the time and not a desk and I'm afraid the fan would suck up bad stuff like hair and get clogged...
