Well after much reading, I am down to the Timbuk2 Commuter and the Crumbler Seude both seem well made. My concern is the that Timbuk2 is lined with gray (although the reivew said it was lined with yellow which I think is cool. I could blow $180 on the crumpler Suede but not sure it would protect my 17 inch ASUS and nobody owns one and I can't find more info which is concerning for $180.
I need something big for the 17 inch but want something with lot's of pockets and cool styling.
Any votes for either one?
Thanks,
Jayson -
I am right there with you on that. I dont want some dorky looking targus thing, but at the same time it doesnt matter how hip a chrome or Timbuk2 is if it doesnt protect my (admittedly cheap) laptop.
But sheesh! I cant get in bed with a bag for more than $100 unless I am damn sure its gonna do the job for 5 years or so. I already have 3, no 4 other similarly sized bags for cameras, dat machine, audio mixer etc. Heck the one for my DAT machine only cost $25 bucks and its pretty plush.
as far as the Ogios. The Hip-Hop is looking pretty fine to me as are the street city corp and the other one uh whats it called? Oh yeah Boss SS ( whats thats a Mustang with a chevy 350 in it?) with that retarded looking Shling thing. I just have to look that stupid!
Oh yeah that hungarian website has neet stuff, but I couldnt figure out prices or how to spec a bag. It kept crashing. -
bumbakpaks are kinda interesting....messenger bags that you can change to backpacks.
-
Could you add http://www.heys.ca/ to the list.
-
Heys, huh. They're Canadian, nope sorry foreign quota filled
Yeah I'll add them

Oho! Thanks for the resource list! I will really spend some time to look at your links. I was looking for some time for this.

I couldn't find a targus backpack for a 17" notebook, do they exist? or it's up to 15.4"
-
does anyone have any experience with North Face packs?

Also, check out Otter Box
A nice hardend plastic case, fits most laptops.
http://www.otterbox.com/
I would suggest asking Qhs about it, he owns one :/ -
Incredible.
Also like their interactive fitting tool.
Edit- here's a video review. Guy's a tard for running it over, twice, and almost busting his ass trying to jump on it, but pretty impressive the styrofoam inside survived. Heavy. Would really need a high level of protection to justify.

found a site that carries a lot of designer laptop bags too... trendy outfitters
-
Yes, Trendyoutfitters.com is great!
Ebags.com has good service, too.
abbinewyork.com -
Makes awesome messenger bags in silk brocade prints, leather, and some with sequins. Starting about $80. Women at school stop me daily and ask where I got the bag, it's that cool.
Abbi is a personal favorite but you can get lower prices at Trendy, Ebags and Gearlabs.com. Free shipping is always a good thing! -
sweet! thank you very much! :]

i like reading the review part and actually seeing the bags pictures provided under notebook review ...before buying one

I didn't see Dakine listed, quite a few of their street series bags have laptop sleeves or pockets
http://www.dakine.com/street-series/
I bought one, they seem to be pretty well made. -
Not in the master list, but posted somewhere here:

Came across one of their stores randomly, and holy crap do I want one of their bags. Very pricey, but very good quality and design. -
Need something cute to go with my wife's below mentioned 1720. Problem is that it's HUGE, and a lot of bags advert'd for 17s don't fit this particular 17. The only ones I've found so far have been on newegg, but would like a few more choices.

I am looking for something to go with a Clevo/Sager NP5790/1.
Travel quite a bit via airplane, so I would really like to have some suggestions on a rolling notebook bag with space for overnight clothing.
Any suggestions? -
wearetheborg Notebook Virtuoso

Just got a Labrador Medium from Woofbags, really cool and sturdy. The shippings reasonable since they're from Hong Kong. Funky site too. Totally recommend them. http://www.woofbags.com

Received a pinder thin, 12", works and functions great for it's purpose!

I got the Super Ego from Tom Bihn with horizontal brain cell and snake charmer. I used it all last week in New Orleans. It was awesome. I highly recommend the products.

I got the Ogio Mastermind for my Inspiron 1720. I liked it fine, but my computer did not completely fit the laptop compartment. I measured my laptop and checked it against the dimensions posted on the Ogio website, and it should have fit, but the dimensions don't tell you that it narrows at the top of the pack. Would have been good to know that first, especially since I bought it on e-bay.
So I went on a four day trip, and had to put the computer in the main compartment. After I checked into my first hotel, I noticed that the computer had ripped the bottom of the bag. So for the rest of the trip, I put the computer in the proper spot and just zipped it up as much as I could. My computer would probably fit in that compartment if I took off the 9 cell battery.
I will try and update this review later, with pictures. Overall I liked the bag, but now I have to fix the hole, and even then, its too small for my computer. -
Are there any sleeves that are an exact fit for the XPS 1530?
-
You can check out Tom Bihn's Brain Cell.
-
Anybody using the armorgear pack-a-derm?
-
-
Yeah, unfortunately I can't find a Canadian supplier... all the US suppliers want nearly $50 in shipping to get it here... that's 50% of the cost of the bag!
-
There is a laptop backpack seems to be stylish. Built by BUILT.

Is the NBR discount at the Mobile Edge invalid now? I get this message when I try to apply the code, "sorry, that coupon code is invalid or expired."
-
anybody got an opinion on the timbuk 2 messenger?
-
Wow thank you guys for the large list, to much to choose from!
-

, this BUILT backpack does not do a thing for me. I tend to like new designs, and am a sucker to try something new, but it just doesn't seem to hold much, and, as another poster said, it looks like a bulletproof vest.
