Anyone use the Oakley Kitchen Sink pack? I know it says it will hold a 17" lappy, but will it hold an alienware m17x?

I just wanted to post, bought an Init bag from Best Buy that I had also seen online.... was on shelf for $35, when I checked out it rang up $24.99.

If you are on a budget, its a super case. The pocket usage is fantastic, very sturdy and comfortable.

If I had to travel with my laptop every single day, Id want something higher end Im sure... but if you are only packing your laptop up once a week or so, this is a fantastic case.

Hi all, I've had a scan through the thread but am struggling to find a bag for an 18 inch laptop, P180HM to be precise. Due to it's weight I need something strong and want something well padded... oh and naturally I want to but something that doesn't cost more than the laptop itself ;)

    Any suggestions welcomed.

The only information I can find about that bag suggests it's for 17" laptops. I'm intending to order online so I need to be pretty sure it'll house this mammoth. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

Does anyone know of a good sling bag that'll fit a 11.6 inch net book? Big enough so I can fit accessories and stuff? I'm thinking about Thule...

Has anyone else had problems ordering from Slappa? I ordered a Slappa Kiken on April 9 and three weeks later, it still hasn't shipped. The bag wasn't listed as out of stock and ordered supposedly ship the next day... I also emailed and called to leave a message, with no response from Slappa. I'm starting to wonder if I've been scammed or the company went out of business or something.

Anyone here have any experience with the Targus Basic messenger bag?

Amazon.com: Targus 15.6" Laptop Messenger: Electronics

I'm getting my HP dv6t tomorrow and I plan on picking up a Coolmaster U2 cooler. Would anyone know if this bag can hold the laptop, charger, cooler, and maybe a notebook and folder? I hear it's not that roomy. Thanks.

Yeah that's what I've been hearing. Do you have any recommendations for me that'll fit my previous conditions? :) . I like the style to be simple, non-flashy, and around $30-40 and no more.

i bought a timbuk2 H.A.L bag about a month ago and its is one of the best bags ive ever owned. i bought in on a pre black friday sale. it has plenty of room for books cables what have you. the laptop pouch fits my 15.6 clevo p150em with a protective sleeve. the quality of the bag is nice over all and im hoping it will last a good long time. and on a plus note it comes with a warranty for it as well. so a good product backed by its manufacture

My bro got me a Timbuk2 bag a couple years back and I think it may be one of the best presents I've ever gotten. I take it with me everywhere and there's hardly any signs of wear. Very sturdy and he got me a large to fit my 17' rig nice and snug. Love it! If you're looking for an everything bag, def consider one.

i am having a real difficult time finding a top loader laptop briefcase/messenger bag for a 14" notebook, i bought one from italy but it did not have any brand labeling, it was stolen, i went through the links and i couldn't find anything similar, anyone have any suggestions? i am primarily looking for something synthetic, no leather, waterproof would be nice, but not necessary

    it was similar to this

but not quite as bulky, bit smaller with better compartment features. primarily going to store a 1 inch binder with probably a laptop occasionally although i am switching to a tablet pretty soon..

I'm looking for a new backpack to carry around a 15.6" laptop, some binders, notebooks and books all day on campus. The laptop compartment I'd like to have a lot of room and padding; and I'd like the bag to have plenty of support so I won't get too tired. I'd also like pockets to fit my pencils, pens, erasers and calculator along with more room or another pocket for earbuds, usb drives, cable chargers and a wireless mouse.

Right now I'm looking at 3 backpacks right now:

Any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

IMO, purpose-built notebook packs suck. No frames, waist belts that aren't worth the nylon used to make them, the list goes on. Get a proper hiking pack like a Kelty Redwing or a Deuter ACT Trail for your stuff and a padded sleeve to protect the notebook. I've used well over a dozen different packs and bags from Timbuk2 and JanSport and Brenthaven and others and the best out of them all by far is my ACT Trail 32 and Case Logic notebook sleeve that I've used almost every day for the past three years.

Let us know how it fares, I'll be in the market for a new bag soon, my Everki backpack is ~ 7 years old now and wear is starting to show up. I still estimate it has a while to last still, but better plan for a new backpack and MEC is one option I have available.

You cannot go wrong with MEC. Besides, if you have a problem...send it back! they are awesome at customer service. Most everything outdoors related I own now is from MEC. A lot of my wifes and my clothing, etc all come from MEC because of their wide range of stuff! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Just quick and hopefully not too ignorant question: is Targus still the No.1 in laptop bags/backpacks business?

I've saved some cash and want to buy a durable bag for my constant travels. Targus appears to be expensive in Europe, so wondering if still worth the reputation.

If you are travelling a lot I would look into some different than Targus. Have a look at the mec outpost I have. I know it's Canadian only but something similar would be better . Patagonia have nice ones, also timbuk2 are another durable brand. Targus are just regular bags good for occasional trips. If you are on the move a lot, then grab an outdoor specialized bag for the most wear resistant bags. Even with shipping to you I think the mec outpost messenger bag will be cost effective for you.

Thanks for a valuable insight. MEC brand, although relatively unknown in these parts, do look good. 98$ + shipping is quite a bit to swallow, though.

This is what I found (colour other than red, of course). Looks spacious and claims waterproofness and improved durability. I really like it.

Anyone heard of Samsonite quality in this business? They are all over this place and always on some discount.

I liked my messenger bag so much I bought one for my parents as well. They go back and forth to Florida every winter. They also travel around in the motorhome all summer. I figured a nice waterproof messenger bag would be good for their computers.
