Like I do everyday, I type in Logitech V400 in google and see if there's any news up. There hasn't been any. However, some vendors advertising on Google are shown. I clicked on one of them, expecting the "back ordered" or "n/a" status to be shown for the mouse.
But at this place called dreamhardware.com, they actually have a RELEASE DATE that they say was given to them by the VENDOR (aka Logitech).
So this site says that the v400 makes it's earth shattering debut on the 20th of this month. Oh joy, that's in a couple of weeks.
UPDATE 2/26/06: Most of the "lucky" owners of the V400 were displeased with it's tracking ability and it's auto shut-off featuere. It hasn't been released in America yet because of part shortage (?). So this mouse was not worth 44 pages of drool created by anticipation and impressions/reviews. Hmm.
*grumbles*
UPDATE 4/9/06: Well seems that the V400 is starting to trickle in here in the US. Apparently the tracking is improved (the biggest complaint) but the mouse falling asleep seems to be the only real issue. One user has stated that the mouse wheel is loose while someone else doesn't have many problems with it. Same with the forward and back buttons which seem to take a little time to get used to (and are also set by the SetPoint software). Sounds like a winner again.

OOohhh!!
Thanks!
Google, then Froogle, then eBay for me!
Yea for me, most of them are saying backorder as well...
Since I'm in Canada, the choices are even more limited...
I'll probrably pre-order from somewhere here...
edit: Holy, $39.99....its like $58 CDN here lol, which is like $49 USD >.> -
Every few days I check on this mouse as well. I just go through froogle. I already have the V200 but I love the back and forward button on the V400.
-
Mmm finally found a place to pre-order it, Oct 21 is the date I would guess...
$68 USD after taxes + Shipping lol -
-
Yeap - I know haha
Oh well, nothing I can do but await the v400 ^^ -
Why are you guys so ready to pay so much for this mouse?
I picked up my Logitech V200 for $12.50CDN (like $10US). It works well enough for me to use it for everything I would need a mouse for.
I love the design of the V400 and think it's an awesome mouse. However it has an MSRP of $70CDN!!!
Personally I actually like the V270 more than the V400 because it is bluetooth... -
My reason for wanting it...
When it comes out it will probably run around $40 here in the US at various sites. So it won't bust my budget.
My other reasons is that I can use it for any computer, the forward and back button, the design, and the "sporty" color scheme. Bluetooth mice are cool n' all and I have bluetooth built in, but overall bluetooth mice seem to be lacking. As in a lack of features.
And I'm waiting for a review too... -
I am ready to pay the $40 for the mice. Having the best mouse/keyboard is a must for me
The V200 is a very good mouse. No other current mobile mouse can beat its all terrain optical sensor. The V500 uses the same but I hate its scroll wheel. The V400 is using a Laser optical so tracking should even be better.
Two of my buddies have the Microsoft cordless notebook mouse and the tracking on it sucks. I can use mine on any surface where they have to find something flat and smooth. Whenever I have to work on their machines, I plug my mouse in theirs. -
I owned the v500, it was pretty good, great design and all but the scroll never appealed to me...
And I don't want to carry my mx700 around its too huge! -
OMG finally ive been searching for news about this mouse for about a month. I just wanted to know if anyone knew if there was an off/on button cause i cant find anywhere that says there is. I currently use the v500 but i need the 3rd button in the middle for when i use autocad and solid edge and the v400 is the perfect solution. I like being able to turn off the mouse when im not using it yet keep it plugged in for the short period of time when im away. Anyone know if the v400 has this option?
-
Nope - but I think once you put the USB dongle in, it turns off itself..
-
dang... o well.
Just wondering what color would u guys rather get?
I myself was thinking about getting the grey, the orange is a little iffy for me. -
Orange!
-
Dont know if anyone has seen this site already I just found it yestarday.
www.csctoronto.com has this mouse and it says it will be available in 2 - 5 days which is probably wrong but u cant beat the price $49.99 CAD +$9.95 for shipping. Its on college street so u could just go pick it up if u in the area. -
Yeap, I saw that but I realized the $68USD was actually CDN hah...
In the end, same price -
OK maybe it doesn't scream that, or anything, but it looks good in a world of dark blues, silvers, greys, blacks, dark greens, and whites. -
just finished checking out some european sites and all of them were saying the estimated release is sometime in october. God i hope it come out soon this v500 is making things harder for me cuz it doesnt have the third button.
-
Yea, looks like the 3rd week of October is the due date...
-
One site, I believe it was eCost but I went to a few so I'm not certain, had an ETA of 10/18/05. Today, CompUSA put the v400 up on their pages with Store Availability as "Coming Soon". I went there at lunch, but the V200 is still the latest model they have in stock. Looks like it'll be sometime next week.
-
Sweet
Can't wait heh.. -
How much longer are they going to much us wait. Teasing us with the photos for this long is just wrong.
-
OK fellas whats the deal with this mouse? and secondly can i get the sucker in Ireland?
-
Tick, tock, tick tock....
Nothing on eBay still... -
I'm noticing a trend on at least four different sites--the one with the yellow (orangish) band is disappearing from the list. Does this mean that the silver one will be shipping first? Don't know...perhaps the yellow one came in and they're updating? At any rate, somethings going down today, because they weren't this way before lunch.
-
The place where I pre-ordered it does not have it in stock, I fired off an email to see whats up and about my order...
I ordered it at a pretty unknown store.....ack, been 10 days, still no confirmation of my paypal payment -
I don't want to double post but..
Just got an email back, he stated that the supplier's new date for the Orange v400 is December 5th 2005. He said it was a steep jump and he will double check on the date, because that does not seem right.
Uh oh.. -
Wait so does that mean the grey one will come out earlier? or are they both comming out on dec 5th. **** i cant wait that long. I need it now!!!
-
I don't know - I'll wait for his email tomorriw(hopefully), he said he'll double check with the supplier then.
-
*shakes uncontrolably in anticipation*
Pop Sci featured this very mouse in this month's issue.
Ok this mouse can't be hyped any more now. It just needs to be released already.
Anyone else get the feeling that the release is taking so long because of the dual laser format and possible complications with it? -
Wasn't the G5 dual laser?
-
the software for V400 on logitech website is now available (setpoint 2.46) and it was posted on 10-17.
I think it's officially released. We'll just have to wait for the stuff to flow through the channels... -
oh well thats good. hope it comes out real soon i keep checking out various sites for updates and if they have any in stock.
-
bad news. I was tired of searching for info and decided to find out for myself i just sent an email asking about the v400. Then i decided to call and they said the mouse would be available and they said mid december.
-
Hmmmm, no reply from the store I bought it from here yet, I'll fire off another email if theres no reply by 8pm tonight, in 4 hours
-
HMMMM Strange,
here in the Netherlands i can buy them everyware.
This weekend i'am going to buy one.
When ik have it i will tell you how it is. -
really? if your willing to to possibly buy another one and ship it to me i will send you the money for the product + shipping another $10 canadian for you troubles. Via paypal. Just need to know how much it costs first... Dont want to pay too much for it.
-
holy crap. i didnt know people care this much about a mouse. i just looked up this product and honestly the looks doesnt really appeal to me. the v500 looks good though. but then again i cant really say anything cuz i still use a regualar desktop microsoft mouse.
-
I have the v500 which i am currently using but i need the third button in the middle for when i do solid modelling so im looking for a mouse similar to the v500 but with a third button in the middle. Wouldnt mind to have the back and forward buttons too.
btw the next person that is gonna post is an ass... dont listen to him. He's is in my class and trying to piss me off. btw he is a bastard.
Look at him he has soo much time on his hands that he signed up on notebookreview.com just so he could piss me off -
I hope he isn't talking about me I just signed up :|
-
LOL LOOK HE CANT EVEN SPELL. -
Oye oye, take it out on him in class not here
I like this mouse because it has the side buttons, and pretty much thats it. My mx700 is way too huge
I'm too used to side buttons now - without it I feel so....useless and slow! -
Wow are you like 2? You take a perfectly fine post and change it to "marco spelling" and post it for no reason, ALTHOUGH I never even said it....childish....just childish, not worthy of a mouse
-
Lol i dont care try to convince the people that u didnt write that line i dont care... i got the proof and i will always know that you cant spell.
-
-
I read it too before you edited it
Now, play without voilence, please?
Back on topic, no repsonse from the store, I'll send off another email -
Got a response, the supplier is still having Dec 5th, so he's going to ask the supplier to double check with their source..
-
Im pretty convinced its comming out dec 5th.... websites, emails and phonecalls all come back with the date dec 5th. ahhh well.
-
I saw the G5 and G7 in stores recently, was looking for the v400 heh, but wasn't even there. The rep was probrably thinking that I was a nutjob -
I live a few miles from Logitech's HQ over in Fremont, CA. I am tempted to go over and ask about the mouse. I probably wouldnt get pass the security door though.
Provantag.com was the first online retailer to carry the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 when it came out a month ago. They had it a week before anyone else. Myself and a few other online folks were waiting for it just like we here are waiting for this mouse so I am keeping an eye on provantage.com
