definitely worth it. i just hate the extra wide side to it. wonder if that is possible totake out... has anyone else found a better deal for 90 dollars shipped or so?

My friend keeps telling me to get the RAT7 instead of the RAT9 because a wired mouse is better than wireless? Does his argument hold any water?
-
The RAT9 (like the Mamba, G700, and most gaming-grade wireless mice these days) has 1,000Hz polling and 1ms response time, aka exactly the same as a wired gaming mouse. The main difference is the price, and the fact that a wireless mouse will generally weigh more due to the battery.
I went from a wired Razer DeathAdder to the wireless Mamba and I couldn't be happier. Apart from the wired vs. wireless aspect, as far as I know, the RAT7 and RAT9 are pretty much the same mouse.
So, if it's worth the cost to you, then go for it. Response times are the same (at least in these high-end gaming mice), and the only thing you really have to worry about is charging the battery every so many hours, and that really shouldn't be an issue (I certainly don't use my Mamba for 14 straight hours).
-
but, these days, a high end wireless mouse will have absolutely no noticeable difference from a wired mouse. You get to be free of the cable, at the cost of being tied to battery life and a higher price tag, as Mastershroom said -
Yey for me. I got the Rat7 yesterday and my 9 months old daughter was so excited she tore the box apart before I got to make a small unboxing movie. But hey, the mouse looks, feels and until now behaves awesome.
It's a mouse for larger-than-average hands and can be adjusted for even larger ones
Getting used to it's size and shape might take some time because it's so much different than my late G5. -
Why? Because of the extra weight from the batteries. I like my mouses nice and light for super fast response times (I've tried both).
Everyone's different though. Others like the extra weight for their games.
It's a personal preference, really.
I really want the RAT-wired, but have 0 complaints with my G9X.
Note: To give you an idea of how much batteries you have to go through, I had to use 8/per month with my previous wireless gaming mouse. By the time you get a new mouse, you'll probably have spent the majority of its cost in batteries, tbh -
If you gaming, most people prefer a wired mouse. both the weight and battery life is an issue with wireless mice.
-
Anyone knows the weight of the RAT 9? I haven´t found it anywhere.
-
Not tied down if the battery running dry.
But anyway got 3 mouse connected to my notebook (4 if I count the bamboo) -
Well, since my previous posts here, i've gotten a rat 7 (got tired of waiting for the 9) and it is SWEET. It is legit the coolest computer peripheral I own--totally adjustable in every way, cool software for macro, sniper button works wonders once you get used to it, 3 different profiles a GLORIOUS feeling scroll wheel, nice and hefty if you have the weights in, light without the weights, solid (metal) chassis--soooo delicious.

Just got the RAT9 very happy with the way I can set it up for my hand ... cept I have an issue with the pointer on screen!
I can leave to RAT9 stationary and the cursor on screen will still move as if its tracking something!
I have tested this on both the desktop and the lappy ... both have the same issue?
Items near my computer:
Wireless Modem Router: Not effecting it I have turned this off and still get the problems.
Uniden Phone: Have also turned this off and still getting movement.
The really weird thing is that when I turn my desktop off and have the RAT9 plugged into the lappy there is no cursor movement when not being moved by me !?!?!?
What the hell could be interfering with the wireless mouse when the desktop is turned on?
The desktop is Ethernet no wireless does not run bluetooth what the hell?
Anyone have any ideas? Sucks cause I like this mouse and before this I did try a Mamba that had the same problem so I returned it thinking it was the mouse but now I am thinking it wasn't. Prior to both the mamba and this RAT9 I did have a Sidewinder X8 which worked wireless with no dramas at all.
Any help is really appreciated as basically have the weekend to trouble shoot and if no luck hopefully will get a chance to change it for the 7 as wired mice dont have this issue. -
^
do you use mousepad ? it maybe the surface (since you had the same problem with Mamba)
btw, please give us a review on battery lifeThanks
-
Sorry mate wont be testing the battery life ... it seems that in general there is problems with the twin eye laser which is what the mamba used as well ... time for some rage!
RAWR!
The only other thing I can think of is maybe the PSU emitting some kind of surge that interferes with the wireless basem because the mouse works with the G73JW it cant be a software conflict because leave the mouse plugged into the G73 and turn desktop on and it stuffs up?
