Guys, is there a laptop bag that has THREE big pockets for Laptop, portable printer and portable scanner AND is top loaded so to speak. I don't like to have to lay it down, do the zipper all the way around and have to lift half the bag open. I hate that.

Should hold three full size laptops (17-18" screens).

Note, PREFER LAPTOP bag and not backpack and no hard cases please.

    THanks

The only thing I could think of that could carry all that is a roller case. If you are fine with them, then Targus has some good ones. Where are you buying from?

Doesn't matter. I can even buy online if i get to see it first. I've seen the roller cases but they open the way I don't want them I think..

Geez thats lot of stuff you shove in one bag. I'd advise getting seperate bags. But if you feel one bag is optimal your best option is one of those massive airliner suitcase ones.

Hey Bluekorn, you're kinda cute. I like what you've done with your hair :)

Seriously, I'd rather carry it all in one case and then maybe have a regular case JUST for the puter.

I think you would be better off just getting a big messenger bad, and then a sleeve to carry the laptop in, odds of you getting a bag that has individual pockets that are well protected for all those things is pretty unlikely unless you do what Bluekornchips said lol

Bluekornchips is the definition of gorgeous but on the other hand I would recommend getting a Swiss backpack
For me it is amazing since I am at school and can hold a big laptop easily I will look for the name of it later today

I'm not sure if you'll find a backpack that has 3 separate laptop compartments in it. But Slappa has some really large bags to look at. I have the MASK KOA. M.A.S.K. Laptop Backpack
I put my M17X, XBox 360, A+ cert book and a whole bunch of adaptors and tools in it. Biggest and best backpack I've seen and used. Only drawback is price. Oh and tech support is awesome. I ripped the handle slightly on mine and they sent me a new one prior to me sending my ripped one back. Great service, great product.

I should have mentioned, I'd rather NOT have a backpack. Don't really like'em for this kinda stuff. I used to use'em all the time but that was when I was younger and exercised a lot.

    That's not bad, thanks.

So do you suggest I put something in that front pocket or put TWO devices in the main pocket? That front pocket has got to be borderline in size...I like it though.

I just snagged a ThinkTank Urban Disguise 60V2 and it is pretty amazing.
It is the only bag designed for both a 17" Macbook and a buttload of camera gear that I found.

I tried last night and my Canon portable printer goes right inside the main compartment or the front pocket with a lot of room left over for more.

It is s deceptive looking bag and holds much more than it seems it could.

It is also pricey but I have other ThinkTank bags and they are very well made.

Well damn! I used to carry my stuff in a camera bag years ago when I Bought my first set of laptop, printer and scanner. Maybe I should look into it again as I STILL have the same case :)

So much for my memory, huh?

I wanted a laptop bag but maybe this will work instead.

    Good idea, thanks

What? And who would carry it King Kong? No soft bag that big would be practical as a laptop carrier. Anything designed for more than one laptop (per bag) would have to be wheeled and have a ridged structure.

that much stuffs would rip most of the laptop bags on the market, since they weren't designed to carry 3 17 inch laptops with that extra stuffs.

You would need a case like what Vogelbung has suggested, or get one of those Pelican cases....

The only backpacks i can think of to carry that much stuffs is one of those military backpacks, but you would have enclose your equipments in separate protective cases (i.e. sleeves) to protect them from knocks and bumps. These bags are usually rated to about 40 to 50 kg.

You kids get excited over nothing. I really only plan to carry it out to the truck and from there into a possibly a cafe or something, that's it.

I'm not going to hoof it around the world in 80 days with it :)

I actually found one at wally world that would hold it (barely) and just ordered the Alienware Onion bag to try it out for size so we'll see.

Yeah, I have all the other options but don't really want to. I think my biggest camera bag will hold all this and more as I seem to remember it having a separate laptop compartment but again, I wanted a laptop bag.

    Anyway, stay tuned...

No, we're trying to offer you the voice of reason--but you just don't seem to get it.

There's no such animal for what you want. For one, it would be an impracticable product. All true laptop bags (the good ones anyway) have some form of cushion to protect them from shocks and bumps. To make a bag capable of supporting even two laptops--let alone three--desk top replacements would be enormously cumbersome not to mention prohibitively heavy, especially when all the ancillaries are added to the weight of the laptops.

Once I managed to squeeze two 15" laptops into my backpack just for a 30 minute bike ride home. After just 10 minutes the straps began to cut into my shoulders like meat hooks and the pain was excruciation. Believe me when I tell you, won't get more than 10 feet with that kind of load. Remember, it's not just the weight, it's the distribution.

Voice of reason? I divorced her about three years ago...

LIke i said, I have other bags that will do it, I just wanted it all in a laptop bag and the reason I'm asking is that I was hoping you guys knew of stuff that I didn't.

The Alienware case WILL hold all the units fairly comfortably but now Ill have to add stuff like ac adapters and one of them is huge so we'll see. Stay tuned for possible pics.

Both! I ordered one and got it yesterday.

It wasn't supposed to hold three laptops. One laptop, one scanner and one portable printer and the Alienware holds them fairly comfortably, however, not much space for extra stuff.

It WILL hold the ac adapters but not pretty like. THe front pocket is where the printer is as it's thick but not too wide so it fits in there fine. The problem is that if I put other stuff in like ac adapters, they'll have to go either on TOP of the printer or on the bottom with some kind of divider. Not pretty but it works and it's one of the few I've found that WILL hold this stuff. Nice looking bag the Orion.

Bought it from ebay cheaper than from the manufacturer. Around 65 or so shipped.

    Questions?

    Will that work?

OK when this started the first thing you said was NO backpack?
Now that you have "Evolved" towards one.....Tom Bihn Brain Bag.

I have 3 of them and use them to carry a diverse mixture of stuff and they would easily hold what you want.
Add to that extreme comfort and great build quality and it seems an obvious choice to me,did I mention I have 3 already?

I even built a carrier for Amateur radios that slip inside them and I can carry radios and batteries for portable operation along with antennas and other radio stuff more easily than other methods I tried.

Bihn also sells the Brain Cell which is a case designed to hold a computer and prevent damage even if dropped. It uses a neoprene sling to suspend the machine above the bottom of the case so if dropped it never hits the bottom.

The Brain Bag can carry 2 of these Brain Cells for even the hugest machines and still have a huge space for more.

    Worth a look.

Well guys, do I have a treat for you. Because I've had such a hard time finding a bag to hold all my crap, I've spent numerous hours searching the web and of course, I can't SEE it like in a store, try it out with my stuff and so on, I decided to buy a whole bunch of different bags/cases to try and then return the ones I don't like and I checked of course that I could. So, in the next few days, I'll get a total of EIGHT different cases that I'll take pics of for your viewing pleasure and unlike the idiots that do the pics for the stores, I will take pics WITH all the equipment so you can see what it looks like. This should help those like me who have a lot of stuff.

    Hold yall's breaths :D

Wow! You know what? I admit, your little thread here has really provided me with some entertainment, lol, no really. :p I guess I'm not the only one who is very pick/particular about their choice in merchandise. Oh God, you should see me order a steak, hahaha, how many times I return it until they get it somewhat right.... (well, mostly that trouble happens when I go to a cheap steakhouse like Outback...but I digress.)

So yea, I wish you the best of luck, and look forward to seeing what you finally pick. ;)
