With the delays and latest reviews of screen resolution not as expected I just put in to cancel. I hope those that expect the device don't expect better optics than the gear vr. I owned that thing for about 20 min and returned it.

I am just asking for to much when I already use trackir with a 21x9 1440p gsync monitor.

This is creepy. Bigger and better chance for monitoring people. This is not good. Not at all. People escaping from WinX because of telemetry and lose the ability to use DX12. Some dont use storage in the sky and on top that don't use
social media because they do not want that large organizations can collect information about how you move and how you're shaped... Now this . could this be worse?

Oculus responds to the shady stuff:

I have no problem with collecting some kind of information to improve service and technology.
Regarding Facebook, advertising etc the terms "at this time", "yet" and "consider in the future" are not comforting. Translates to "In the future we will logg everything we can and share it with Facebook so they can do Facebook-things. Just not right now because then you´ll all buy Vive instead."

I cancelled my pre order the other day due to this (came here to warn others and saw your post). I have now put in a pre order for the HTC Vive.

My Mini Itx just got a ''very good'' score in the Steam VR test too. If you ask me, the Occulus Rift is continually shooting themselves in the foot. First they had a higher price than advertised, then two delays, then no touch controls, then sold it to FaceBook and now I find out they are going to spy on us. Forget it.

I wonder how many others will cancel after realising this. Lets face it, many people click on ''I accept the TOS'' without reading all of it, if any of it at all. Lets hope the HTC Vive does not make the same mistakes. Good bye Facebook Rift....

Sources claim the Rift is delayed because of a shortage of lenses due to a sophisticated optical design. I´m more interested in the Vive myself but these things are never fun. Need to get it out to the masses to drive technology, and competition, forward.

In other news, the Oculus Rift-games made playable on the Vive is a hack according to Oculus and is not condoned.
I don´t like this. Sure it´s not a screen in the traditional way but it´s not a console, do we really want games locked to a specific HMD?
Let´s hope they´re just covering their asses in case CrossVR games wont work in the future.

I completely gave up on the CV1, there is another VR device in my sights which will be improved greatly with screen res and FOV coming in the next year or so. For now I will stick with my X34 Predator monitor with Track IR and Gsync.

Care to share? The only one I know not commonly written about is StarVR.

Called it :D I´m keeping my eyes on those too.
For those who dont know Starbreeze made Escape from Butchers Bay, The Darkness, Assault on Dark Athena, Syndicate (reboot), Payday 2 and Brothers: A tale of Two Sons.
And now they´re making a a VR-headset with resolution and FOV that puts the others to shame.

Ok everyone, I picked up a CV1 today and it's a fairly nice device....I will share more but I can say this. Actual games developed for VR are pretty crazy and on a level I have never experienced. Games that at not VR such as project cars are pretty poor which makes sense. If you get a chance to demo a real VR game do it and you will prob walk out with one.

No more problems for users with glasses either it fits very well and is lighter than I expected.

I canceled my rift after & just got a vive (id ordered both on the fist day they were available to pre order) but with all the FB stuff, occulus not allowing you to use competitors hard ware with there store which should be fine they still get a cut of the profits from the sales & this hole preorder but people can buy them in shops before you stuff.
They just seamed to turn into a company i didn't want to support with my money
my pan was to have the vive at home & take the oculus with with me when i'm away (so 90% of the time :p)

Ive had a chance to play the Vive and it is like nothing Ive ever experienced before. I loaded up Virtual Desktop, watched a movie in VLC that was the size of my local cinema, played GTA 5 in first person view on a huge screen and had a great time playing Space Pirate. It took me about 10 minutes to set up on my Mini Itx and performance is flawless on my Gtx 980.

I have placed one tracking box on top of my wardrobe and the other on a tripod. I am so glad I got the Vive. The tracking will allow so much more in the future and it is nice to have the tracked controllers instead of a standard Xbox one.

I really feel like I am somewhere else when I use this hardware, it is quite incredible!

I just purchased this game after watching this video. Skip to 2:07 for a good laugh.
