My vote goes to the Razer DeathAdder 3,500 DPI, followed by the DeathAdder 1,800 DPI, followed by the Logitech MX518.

Diamondback 3g on the destructor mat, which lasts forever. What I prefer most of course, is the shape. My hands aren't very large, but I am right handed. Every hand and grip is a little different, try them out for yourself! It's also optical, so I can lift the mouse just a little bit and it won't track. Not overpriced at $50 either.

I have come to like the R.A.T. 9 now as well
So here are the ones I will choose from:
Razer Mamba
CM Storm Sentinel Advance
R.A.T. 9
The Razer seems to be famous and very liked by it's owners
The CM has a design that I have liked, especially those lights of colors
The R.A.T. has a design that I have liked as well, especially how it looks like Megatron's left thing (was what the site said..)
Hmm.. so it's becoming a tough decision..
(EDIT): I have just remembered what the word means.. -
haha i just looked at a pic of the R.A.T. 9. That thing looks INSANE!
-
(EDIT): I confused the word with another word! -
I like my - Roccat Kone

i would say personal preferences since i've been a user of razer for 2 years..

My favorite movie is Braveheart too -
I'm a certified Razer Copperhead fan at this point. I've had the Logitech 518, and while it's nice, I didn't keep it long. My dad has it, and my mother has my g9 wireless that also did not make the cut. After those, I've had every kind of wireless and wired that you can think of, but the Razer Copperhead is what I've used the last 2 years. It has survived WoW raiding, countless FPS gaming sessions and still keeps on going.
I like the shape and the fact that it has 4 side buttons, 2 on each side. I actually use all 4 in Wow. -

So i recieved my Imperator finally. After spending about 5 hours with it in MW2 and web-surfing i can say the following: the mouse requires a completely different approach than my MX518 did. The MX518 was large underneath my palm and had momentum. It also extended way past my grip. I adjusted to the highest DPI setting in a week and was able to utilize its full potential within 2 weeks.
The Imperator is small. It fits directly underneath my palm and its top surface is entirely covered by my hand with my fingers extending past its surface area. Having said that, i find it much more ergonomic, comfortable, quick to respond, and generally agile than the MX518 was. Simply put, its a mouse from a different league. It has zero momentum and is so simple to control, its taking me time to get used to having to put in less force when moving my hand to achieve the same results. The DPI is certainly way too high for me right now so i will start off at 3000 and take it from there. The customizable buttons are a nice feature and was used. Also i fancy the control panel quite a lot with its multiple settings.
Just another word about the way the mouse feels in your hand. The scrollwheel is super smooth and feels like a switch from an expensive car (think BMW iDrive). The coating of the mouse allows your hand to seemlessly blend in with it making it easy for your mind to percieve the mouse as an extension of your hand. The clicks feel solid and arent too hard to execute. Overall i would give this mouse a 9/10 simply because its a bit expensive and will definately take time to adjust to. -
So I got my Razer Orochi in and so far it's a beautiful product. I forget that Razer is the reason why people do unboxing videos on youtube lol. Unboxing this thing makes it all the more fun in receiving a Razer product, from getting in the gorgeous display box, to the well packaged black sleeves with the authenticity card, quick guides, manuals etc. It was awesome just taking everything out of the box lol (I know geeky right?). Got a carrying case, detachable braided cord, AA batteries, the awesome mouse itself (which feels terrific).
I also bought the Razer Kabuto mouse pad which turned out to be much nicer than I thought. The top of the pad feels great with a non-slip on the bottom, real thin, wider than it is tall and works great in pair with the orochi so far. Gonna slip the pad between my screen for easier transportation and screen protection.
So yeah, on top of my DeathAdder recommendation, the Orochi (so far) is great. I'm about to test out Bluetooth mode as I've been wired setting it up. -
I tried Razer Naga for first time today in fps game (i usually play mmo's) and those side buttons were insanely helpfull, aiming was spot on, overall good product. would recommend it to anyone out there, very easy to get used to.
-
i also got my orochi in 2 days ago and so far i love it just as i love my mamba
at first i thought the mouse was gonna be too light sense usely mobile mouses is on the light side but with the 2 aa battery's in it it feels just rightfeels a bit heavier than my mamba lol
and blue tooth i love it i been using that feature ever sense i got it haven't even tried wired yet lol
now i need to get a bluetooth dongle for my g50vt-x5 when i use this mouse with that im using it on my asus 1201n has built in bluetooth which is nice.
so far theirs no lag in bluetooth on this mouse maybe little when the mouse wakes up but it goes away fast and doesn't bother me at all.
but so far razer always been good too me so far i have about 3 of there products razer diamondback plasma ed than the mamba and this. -
I, too, received my Orochi two days ago. That seems to be a trend here.
It's been pretty awesome so far. Now I don't have to lug my DeathAdder in my backpack anymore. And the included carrying case is quite nice. -

I'm confused between the CM Storm Sentinel Advance and the R.A.T. 9
Both of them are good =/ -
Given the quality of Mad Katz / Saitek peripherals to date in terms of long-term beating-taking, I'm not so sure about the RAT, although I do like the looks. The previous Cyborg(s) were my shortest-lived-left-button mice for example. Eclipse key wear is also not good and I'm no he-man but I have managed to rip off the entire steering wheel assembly from inside the housing from their top-o-the-line (although we're of course not talking Logitech-upper-end prices) wheels in the course of gaming.
I will undoubtedly *have* to have a look at itbut still, I have a feeling I'll be disappointed.
-
What do you think of the CM Storm Sentinel Advance?
-
Nevertriedit. Neverheardofituntilnow
Using G9x's right now, I'm waiting for a fleabayed X8 and getting a little anxious - it's been a while. Orochi doesnt work for me although it was an option - it won't apply to most of you but the lack of a tilt wheel is a total deal-killer for me these days on my main PC's. I might still give a Mamba a try though. -
Okay then
-
That Naga looks... intense. I might have to try that, as I play quite a bit of WoW still.
-
The Razer Naga is good while playing World of Warcraft?
-
It was pretty much designed for WOW, wasn't it?
But this... is intens er -
And yes, the 12 command buttons would be great for attacks/spells in an MMO. (Mine preferably being WoW) -
-
Part of me is curious to find out just how much of a trainwreck it would be. But a far larger part says I shouldn't throw my money down the toilet
-
I am liking the Razer Naga as well
I feel like it's just my choice -
hey guise,
what do you think of the steelseries Xai gaming mouse? -
-
This looks like a step backwards in mouse tech, imo. -
what do you guys think of the Coolermaster Sentinel? It's a new mouse but...I'm about to jump the gun on buying either that or the Ikari Laser
-
but yea, here is his review...he had that mouse and would've been glad to give you some input on it. IIRC, he loved it for how much he spent, great value mouse with TONS of features (who wouldn't want those kickass lights?).
-
Whoa red dragon banned? What happened there...
Anyway I'm loving my used Sidewinder I got for $25 from ebay:
-Not too flashy with two lights at the bottom edge
-5 programmable buttons (left, middle, right, and the two vertical side buttons)
-3 DPI buttons that can be separately set from between 800 to 2000 DPI and has a little LCD that shows the current DPI
-35g of adjustable weights (three 10's and a 5, room for 3 inside the mouse) and a rubberized case that holds the weight as well as two sets of adjustable feet and the case can serve as a cable anchor
-Very comfortable for me. Size is perfect for both palm and claw grip
-Also a button that opens the Windows Games folder...for convenience I guess
Not to shabby. -
Just picked up a Deathadder 3500 for $29.99+ tax at Fry's Electronics and couldn't be happier.
Admittedly I haven't ever had a high end gaming mouse (was previously using an old Logitech MX mouse), but I think the ergonomics of the Deathadder is FANTASTIC! It's like it was custom molded for my hand....
Also had a chance at the store to play with the Steelseries Ikari, Logitech MX518, Logitech G500, Razer Orochi, Razer Lachesis, and Razer Mamba. Deathadder fit my hand the best... Mamba was just as nice, but for $129? No thank you! -
Holy crap, $30 for the new DeathAdder? It's hard to find the original 1,800 DPI model for that low. I paid $60 for my DeathAdder 3,500...you got an excellent deal there!
Good choice with the DeathAdder. -

SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Microsoft Habu, represent.
After RMAing my OCZ Eclipse for the third time enough was enough. -
I have both the Roccat Kone and the Deathadder, and I have to say that Deathadder wins in terms of ergonomics.
The only downside I can think of for the Deathadder would be the number of programmable buttons as compared to other gaming mice in the market. It doesn't really bother me though.
Oh, and I don't see the point of going any higher than 2,000 dpi, unless you're running on insanely high resolutions -
-
i have a habu but it has issues with the usb cable, luckily the mouse has 3 yrs of warranty so MS sent me a new one. My deathadder's middle scroll wheel doesn't light up no more. Both mouse are not particularly reliable, my 7 year old MS intellimouse 1.1 optical still works however after years of intense gaming.
-
- Razer DeathAdder
- Not reliable
In all seriousness, though, my original 1,800 DPI DeathAdder lasted me two years before I replaced it with my current 3,500 DPI model. And to this day, there's nothing wrong with the original one. It's a very robust mouse, and honestly, the LED probably just got disconnected somewhere, which is a pretty simple DIY fix.
Make sure you haven't turned the scroll wheel light off in the DeathAdder driver software, too. In retrospect, that's probably more likely than anything actually going wrong in there. -
I bought the CM sentinel. So far it's pretty cool and feels quite comfy for palm grip! Easy to install and everything, but I noticed that at higher DPI's (like 3000+) the mouse will skip a lot. I don't know if it's because I'm using a Steelpad 4D, but yeah. Thanks everyone for your suggestions

Grats on the mouse, Biscuit
Lots of good mice mentioned here
I was using a gaming mouse made by a local retailer here that was fairly good.
I was thinking of getting a MX518, G5, or Diamondback 3G
Just before I bought any of these, my friend told me he was selling his Lachesis (that he used only 3 timesI know since I saw him use it and he preferred his G5)
I convinced him to sell it to me for 180SR (~48$) compared to the retail price of 380SR (~100$)
It felt a bit weird at first since I'm used to rightie mice, but now that I'm used to it, it's like a dream
Now all I need is an eXactmat which I hope to get soon
I know about the Vespula, thanks Mastershroom, but it will be a while before it comes out here, so I'll probably get the eXactmat
It's around ~22$ here -
I had a G5 but the right click stopped working, so I picked up a Logitech performance MX mouse at best buy and I've loved it ever since. Not as high a DPI rating as some wired mice (1500 or something like that), but it literally works on any surface and never jumps or skips. The buttons are also totally programmable and it seems to be very well built.
-
I had that mouse until its feet wore off and even the plastic bottom wore all flat. Then I donated it to a friend who still uses it.
Now I have two of these, Logitech G3:
Does any manufacturer make such form factor mice anymore? Small enough to reach buttons when guiding mouse with just fingers? I've tried couple Razers in stores and with my hand on the table I can't reach the buttons/wheel at all or well enough. Maybe ET should lend me some fingers -
i use a microsoft sidewinder. fits my short stubby hands perfectly. thumb buttons are in the prefect spot for me.
-
Or the slightly larger Diamondback 3G:

Currently using Razer Orochi. But I'm likely to switch to something else in a while.
Which gaming mouse you prefer?
