Good choice, I used to own an original G9. The swappable grips were nice, and there's plenty of room to adjust the weights if you're into that sort of thing. The configuration software was pretty nice too.
Storing it in a sock had nothing to do with my hand getting sweaty (which was honestly never that bad anyway). I did that to keep it from getting all scratched up, especially the lens. And it was a very nice thick sock, never worn before. It's one of those navy blue socks that Continental Airlines gives you on transatlantic flights.![]()

Heh, didn't they used to sell tiny socks specifically for the iPods?
-
I miss my Deathadder.. it's been placed at the office for work related mousing business haha. Orochi holdin' it down now at home

Anyway, now to read:
"I have a mouse, that I lovingly place my hand on for hours at a time. Sometimes my hand gets sweaty and makes the mouse damp. Even when the mouse isn't damp, I'll take it on trips with me. When I do to take my mouse on trips with me--since I love my mouse so much--I put it in a free sock some flight attendant gave me. I bet she would have liked my mouse." -

)
Seriously though, people actually use socks for that? That just sounds very uncomfortable. >_< -

What, putting them on their feet. Of course they do!
And before we go completely off topic, what was the general size comparison between the Deathadder (which is almost like the Habu, if I remember) and the G9[x]? Taller, shorter, longer, fatter? -
It depends on which grip you're using with the G9, but having owned both, I'd say the DeathAdder is a bit longer than the standard wide-load and precision grips on the G9, and around the same length as the ID grip. The G9's wide-load and ID grips are both a bit wider than the DeathAdder, and the precision grip is probably around the same width.

I have a Razer Mamba and love it.
-
-
I use Razer Lachesis... at first, its pretty hard to get used to since I got used to palm grip type of mouse but after sometime I fell inlove with it
-
the mamba would be perfect if it had a button in front of the mouse wheel
-
Currently, i use the Cooler Master Sentinel, which is a excellent mouse for it's price. Very comfortable and the
oh-so-sexy lights..
I was and am contemplating on getting a orochi for my notebook but it again shelved after Mad Catz announced their R.A.T series. Can't wait for it to be launced! -

The RAT looks like a transformer.
-
like the + and - buttons...?
i actually like that they've put it to the left of LMB, it feels nice and easy to press instead of using the middle of my middle finger -
I've got the Razer Death Adder and the Logitech MX-518. I bought them for the thumb buttons, the comfort, and so I could become a pro gamer. Two out of three ain't bad.

Razer Orochi. After having tried the Deathadder, Abyssus, which I returned 3 hours after opening the box, Logitech MX518, and Logitech G500, I think Orochi is the best there is. For those interested, the Abyssus weighs about the same as an Orochi without the batteries. Its shape and size look eccentric, but actually turned out surprisingly comfortable. If it weighed more, then it would be the perfect mouse.
-
So you returned the Abyssus because it was too light?
Heh, I'm the exact opposite. I love a lightweight mouse than can keep up with me. My DeathAdder is perfect in that regard...I actually find the Orochi a bit on the heavy side with the batteries in, to the point that I'll usually take them out if I'm using it in wired mode. -

I don't like mice that are too heavy, but the Abyssus feels like nothing!! It feels like half a stack of cards.
-
Haha, that's exactly the way I like it.
-
I use a G5 v2 and I love it, its a slight upgrade from the 518 imo. If I were looking for one today though, the G9 looks very tempting.
Orb -
well they were selling the new Logitech G500 for 34.99 after MIR at amazon/newegg, but i believe the deal ended a couple of days ago...
-
I just got a G9x on newegg, I'll report back here in three days!
-
I just got myself a Razor Boomslang 2007 CE today & i must say it easily one of the best mice i've ever used. I got it at a exceptional price begin with (US$35) Brand New. The packaging was a sight to behold. The mouse feels excellent. I do have huge hands and it feels really good. Although i do prefer the DPI of my CM Storm Sentinel, the Boomslang does have excellent tracking and response. Overall, it really a wonder Razor made this thing (Albeit with a ball tracking) 10 years ago!
-
I forgot to come back and tell about the G9x lol. I love the weight system, I made it feel just like the old mouse that had the weight of two AA batteries. The grips are nice, that's why I chose it, and there nothing more to say other than really accurate and responsive. It was a bit expensive but I'm planning to use it for a long time now.

I have used a Razer Lachesis for 2 years and I have not had any problems with it ever since, albeit the Ambidextrous design can be somewhat uncomfortable to get used to.
Any games are smooth playing at 4,000 DPI (I do not lower the DPI at all, unless that I am doing some precision job at Corel X4 or doing Pixel Art), all kinds of games.
It gives me some sense of accomplishment and that I am doing things right when people think that I am cheating simply because of my Lachesis, it makes my day.
I would not exchange my Razer Lachesis for any other gaming mice, except for the Razer Mamba, perhaps. -
Really can't beat the Logitech G9/G9x. You get what you paid for. A mouse for general web browsing and a grip for claw-grip FPS styles gaming. Weights. Dozens of storable on-board profiles for DPI changes - on the fly. Adjustable scroll wheel sensitivity on the fly. A conservative addition of forward/backwards buttons and nothing else to get in the way.
-
I have both Orochi and Deathadder but def prefer DA. But the Orochi is much easier for notebooks thanks to the short cord.

I am Currently using Razer Naga and Razer Lachesis they are awesome.
Which gaming mouse you prefer?
