    Couple questions...

First, I have an antec cooling pad for my current M1530. It works pretty well. What I like most about it though is that it sits well on my lap. The NC2000 seems to be design for a flat surface. Is it possible to put it on ones lap without discomfort or instability?

My new SXPS16 is coming in the mail and was wondering if the NC2000 would be big enough. The SXPS16's dimensions are:

    Width: 15.15" (384.9mm)
    Height: 0.95" (24.1mm) front / 1.34" (33.95mm) back
    Depth: 10.02" (254.6mm)

    Thanks.

As a side note the hottest parts of the SXPS16 seem to be towards the front. Luckily the NC2000 vents are biased towards the front. (I am not getting the bigger battery pictured).

Although the GPU is at the back.

Sorry for the belated response, for measurements check out this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=281575

If you would like to use it on your lap I recommend a hard surface underneath it or avoid blocking the fan intakes of the cooler.

I am a bit worried that the tilted slant of the Zalman will make close quarters typing difficult and typing in general cramped. Something about a slanted surface makes my wrists tight. Is this unfounded or accurate?

I have the Dell Studio XPS 16. Do you prefer the Zalman NC200 or the NZXT Cryo LX for my laptop? Thanks.

According to my laptop fan locations (Dell XPS m1530) which cooler would you recommend?

Zalman NC2000 or the NZXT Cryo LX or any other???

    Thanks :)

p.s. I have the 9 cell battery which elevates the laptop already.

Go with the Cryo ... I modded mine removed the stock fans replaces with Thermaltake 120mmx25mm fans, bypass all internal electronics (usb and thumbwheel) rewired, I'm using a 3-12 volt adapter wired to a 4 pin molex female and on the end of the cryo i have a male 4 pin molex.... It works outsatnding on my Alienware M17x.... I run 7 volts when running the 9600m and 12volts when running Dual 260m's ......Works Great!!!!

Try plugging it in to another pc to see if it is a USB power issue or not.

That's one BIG air compressor! I once tried cleaning my nc2000 with a can of compressed air, the result wasn't that great.

I love how the fan motors are being ruined by a 115psi compressor. Why can't you just open up the cooler like any normal person? The screws are under the two rubber feet and the rubber strip. Blowing air in through the fan intakes is just spreading loose dust inside of the cooler. You will be surprised by how much dust that isn't removed.

I would go with the NotePal U3.

My GPU runs 10C cooler with the U3 compared to the Zalman NC2000.

Hey guys do you know how to dissassemble this notebook because mine is all covered with dust in the fans and I wanted to clean him without air compressor since it can harm the fans and also I could take a look inside.

is it wise to go by amazon's best selling cooling pads in deciding which fan i should opt for?
i went ahead and looked at the cooler master u3, but so many of these pads seem to have positive reviews. it's difficult to distinguish one from the other.
