Style: The Zeroshock III is a very good looking sleeve. A matte black with a contrasting trim. It is also offered in orange. Only labeling on it is in the right corner in which it says "Zeroshock III- Wavin Ravin protective gear". As for the weight of this thing, its far from unmanageable but it is noticeably heavier then a neoprene sleeve.
Build Quality: The Zeroshock III outer shell consists of a matte "soft plastic" covering which at touch is evidently scratch, dust, and water resistant. White trim is made of same soft material.

The inner layer is where the Zeroshock III itself from all the Targus's and other inferior cases.

The inner protective layer of the Zeroshock III consists of a very high density polyurethane "memory" foam. When a laptop is put into the Zeroshock, it "forms" to the laptops curves. One thing separating the Zeroshock III from your Best-Buy esque sleeves is its protection to the area's most likely to take direct impact from a drop. The edges. The Zeroshock III is one of the only sleeves I have ever seen with significant "lips" on the edges to protect your laptop from these kind of falls.
It is worth noting the Zeroshock III also comes with a front "pouch". It is not padded nor very large but very handy for holding things such as a thumbdrive etc. Not large enough to carry a charger with a significant brick.
Conclusion: In a market prevalent with severely overprices $50-100 sleeves, the Zeroshock III truly shines. Its durability is unmatched. It can be used as a sleeve or a case itself. This is no neoprene skin, it is full body protection. I highly recommend this sleeve to anybody with a laptop worth protecting.
Pro's: - Resistant to scratching/scraping, dust, and water
- High Density Memory Foam offers great protection
- Nice addition of a slimline front pouch
- Unlike most sleeve's, edges offer protection
Con's: - Wish it came in a few more colors

Great sleeve. I am getting ready to buy two more from the Ebay seller, yap2528, from whom I bought my original two. He is great. Quick service. Great communication. Great product.

Veeeery nice product...one of the few that actually does what it says...PROTECT
@jaycee
updating a threat?? -
Haha woops
And hey I am glad you guys like the review! And your right LP, its a very, very nice product.
Too bad they dont sell these in stores in the US. But then again, if they did, they would be what, $100? I see cheap neoprene sleeves for $50-60, imagine what this would cost -

I have two black ones...a 13.3 and a 15.4...and want to buy two orange ones.
Edited to add: Just purchased two more from yap2528 on Ebay. I really want to get one of those little Zeroshock accessory cases from him, too. I guess I will do that next time.I've been spending too much money LOL
-
I got the 11.1" and it fits my Asus 1000H perfectly -
I didn't see the orange one in 15.4 on Ebay so I sent a message to yap2528 last night and very quickly responded that he had it, had made a note of my choice and when I put in my order he would send me the orange 15.4.
So, it's best to contact him through ebay because I think there are some that are not listed on ebay.
Again, very highly recommended. I just stumbled across it about a month ago...don't ask me how...and when I received my first one, I fell in love with it. -
Nice review and pictures supplied, Jaycee!
That's a nice looking sleeve!!
Glad it's working out for yah!
Cin
Glad your liking yours!Nice that you were able to get it in orange!

Keep em' coming!
Cin
P.S.....Yes, I did in that post!!!! But, didn't you know I have a great relationship with the Smilies? and get paid per Smiley?
oh lulz.... -
I'm on the road now...Just flew to NYC....My Synergy is by my side, and my Zeroshock sleeve protected my laptop on the plane. -
That's great to hear that the Zeroshock Sleeve is working well/holding up good for you, especially for all your traveling! This info also helps those looking at it from a *traveling standpoint* per se!
LOL..on the *smilies*

How does this sleeve compare to something like the waterfield sleeve case?
-
-
I bought one for my Dell XT while in Japan over the summer and it is excellent. It fits the XT very well.
-
I just received my orange 13.3 and 15.4 Zeroshock yesterday from yap2528. The orange Zeroshock looks great, and yap's service was outstanding, yet again.
So, now I have two black and two orange. -
Great sleeve. I am happy to hear others like it, as well! -
I am getting a 15.4" in Orange right NOW!
-
Thanks for this review! I just bought myself a white 13.3" sleeve for my SR.
-
Ah so they ARE still selling white ones! Good to hear. So now we have confirmed 3 colors. Black, Orange and White!
Hope it treats you as well as mine has me. -
Yep, I thought yap only had the orange ones, but that's just the default color he uses for his pictures. He actually sells orange & white for the 13.3" which you can specify when you buy. Sadly, no black, which is what I would have preferred, but the white looks shiny enough.
-
-
Well, it's already been shipped, so it's too late now, but his description page only mentioned orange & white. Oh well, it's not too big of a deal! Guess I'll just have to be more careful about keeping it clean.
-
You're going to love it, Lattice. Great protection in a pimp package.

Anyone have the Zeroshock III with a DV5t? I looked at the one yap2528 has for the DV5T/DV5Z and it says the dimensions are W14.8 x D1.6 x H10.8 and HP's website says the dimensions for the DV5T are W14.05 x D1.65 x H10.2. I wondering about the D1.65?
Thanks
Nevermind, I just remembered built has a DV5T and I read on this post that he uses the Zeroshock. -
Good memory! Yes, it fits the DV5T very well. -
I got a Zeroshock III bag for my Vaio TX and TZ the second i bought them; never even had a single dent or whatever; the bag works amazingly well for me even after a couple of years. =D

edit: I see there is also a 10" version, think that may be a "better" fit since the EEE is a 10" netbook? -
I just got my ZeroShock sleeve today (13.3"). I think it will depend on the thickness of your power brick? I definitely can't fit mine in there and I'm personally a bit wary of stuffing too much stuff in there anyway. I wouldn't keep anything but maybe a few papers or cables/USB keys in there at most.

they eee's brick is very small but probably not small enough, so guess i need to look for a bag more than a sleeve. I dont mind the one that comes with it, works well.
I ordered a leather cover for it anyways and if it works the way I plan I was going to just charge at home and take the notebook with me in the cover so i have max mobility, it should be like carrying a book around.
here is what i got: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDMbHfvhFzk
except mine is a cheaper offbrand. Not so sure if it will cause cooling issues or not, but it was only like $20 so not a big risk if it does not work -

Does this come for the Asus M50vm

Looks good, but I have 3 quick questions:
1. Anyone know if the U330 fits nicely in the 13.3" model?
2. Is there a zipper on that little side pouch?
3. Anyone know if it meets the new TSA rules for laptop sleeves you can keep laptop in going thru airport security?
Thanks! -
Don't know about #1, but the seller on eBay provides measurements that you can use to check.
#2: Yes, there is a zipper on the side pouch. I actually found a bit difficult to get my finger in there to pull it open.
#3. I doubt it. TSA rules want something with transparency so they can see clearly what's inside, I believe. -
About #1:
A poster in the U330 New Owners Thread has ordered a Zeroshock sleeve. When he gets it I'm sure he will report back to the forum. -
The front pouch is very brightly designed. The front pouch has to lips which actually conceal the zipper giving it a very 'smooth' look!
-
I know I've said it plenty of times, but I love this sleeve. -
Interested in this sleeve but the dimensions are... meh...
NP8550
14.3" (w) x 10.6" (d) x 1.45" ~ 1.95" (h)
15.4in sleeve
W14.8 x D1.6 x H10.8 inch
the sleeve is capable of depths up to 1.6in, but the NP8660 ends up going to 1.95in in the back so I'm not sure whether I should risk this...
maybe I should get the 17in and hope that it'll still fit in?... -
The Foam does depress I would say 1/4". Give it a try definately worth it. To be truthful, the Sager NP8660 has an abnormally big back end and you would encounter the same issue in most sleeves not made of cheap stretchy neoprene...
-
think I should go for the 15.4 or the 17?
-
15.4" definately
It SHOULD fit. -
I just ordered a sony fw and am considering getting this sleeve- unfortunately the fw is sort of between the sizes. Compared to the 15.4" sleeve's dimensions of W14.8 x D1.6 x H10.8 inch, the fw has dimensions of 15.1 x 1.46-1.3 x 10.3. I'm going to assume that that .3 difference in the width is going to be insurmountable.
On the other hand, I'm worried the 17" sleeve will be too loose. In another thread on the Sony forum I heard from one user that it still gave decent support but was a bit loose, enough so that he could hold the sleeve by the loose part to carry it around. This obviously makes me worry that this sleeve isn't tight enough to offer any real protection.
Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts based on their experience with this sleeve? Will it still provide a decent amount of padding if it's loose? It seems really nice which is why I'm still considering it even though it might not be a great fit. Of course, if anyone owns an fw and this sleeve I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks. -

I took the dive and got the 11.1" black one for my EEE 1000H, My wife really likes the leather cover/sleeve/case deal I ordered so I think I will give that to her and use the zeroshock myself because I can take just the sleeve when I need just the netbook, but toss it in my bag with my headphones & mouse and stuff when I feel like taking the family of accesories with me.
The 30% cash back deal was what really made me go for it tho. I suppose since your limited it 6 times I should save it for some high dollar items like ... been tempted to get a 4870X2 for my desktop.... but even tho the more you spend the more you save, you have to have the money to spend in the first place... -
Try Amazon, great deals on these now.
-
Vicious, glad you like the case. Its great for the Asus 1000H. I havent dropped it yet, but I do use it as standalone protection for my EEE every day at school. Its easier to hold with books then in my backpack -
