Right. A used Zeroshock that's $30 more than reputable Ebay sources.

Thats what I figured, no way there were cheap Z-Shock III's on Amazon. I didnt even bother looking at Amazon.Com.
The only two places I know which sell Zeroshock III's are Ebay and Shimza -
the dimensions of the m1530 XPS with the 9cell battery are 14.1 x 10.5 x 2.3.
I guess it's a no-go for the zeroshock iii... -
could anyone tell me if the 13.3 inch version would fit the samsung q310 please,
The dimensions are 322 x 241 x 28.6~38.6mm (wdh), but im wondering it it will stretch a little bit. -

Just get one size bigger it wont really move around in there, yap has the internal dementions posted on all of his auctions so you can see what the next size up will be.
I got mine what 2 days ago? Well Sunday is a no ship day so probably will see mine in 2 more days, maybe 3. I'll be sure to take pics of the EEE 1000H paired with the 11.1" model and give my "mini review" to add with this one. -

Possibly we can combine our two and get this in the Official reviews thread/part of site??

I doubt it, I was told they are not taking any new reviews at this point in time. They are short on staff or behind on work most probably.
I just got my cheapo leather case in today, have it on the EEE right now and its actually really nice, got my gps reciver today too, and got the VX Nano the other day and just got done installing the software for that.
So have a ton of new EEE toys to mess with. -

No I got an external usb unit.
The Navibe GM720 its supposed to be the best budget gps unit.
I got it installed and drivers going but its not finding any satellites. I may have to put it in the car and drive with it and see if it picks up something because been reading all night on why it may not be working and read about other units not picking up sats right away.
However due to the nature and the chipset of this unit I think it should work right away, so I maybe got a bad unit.
Also im using the Streets & Trips 2009 Trial so dunno if that has anything to do with it.
BTW S&T says it requires XXXXx720 res and some people were upset about that but it installed and runs fine with the XXXXx600 res, and the EEE can fake 720 anyways if it had to.
The leather case is here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=307326
I really like it personally. I may use it over the zeroshock but cant say for sure until I have both in my hands.
I suppose it would be zeroshock when I want to toss it in my bag with accessories, and the leather case for when I just want the EEE alone. -
I have seen those cases around Ebay. Nice little things but I never picked one up. I am waiting for a more reliable seller to release some 8800 MAH batteries OR a 1000+ MAH battery and ill pick one up without a doubt.

I know its so off topic but keeping it going
I love the leather case, its on there permanently, comes in handy to carry the EEE around and keep it off surfaces, also acts as a solid base for use in your lap, or in my case been using it in my passenger seat on the way home while playing with the GPS.
The GPS works, Streets & Trips 2009 is very easy to use and very effective. Garmin is looking like it has a ton of potential but getting maps for it is proving to be a pain, but its got a nice big easy to see/use interface and most people will prefer its style (good for touch screen)
Iguidance for some reason is not working for me, guess I have a bad download, will try the official site and see if they have a free trial.
I did not know that GPS could be so fun/addictive. I love watching it tell me how fast I am driving on my EEE screen instead of looking at my speedometer
The Zeroshock should probably be here today, I guess it will come in handy for something -

Well got it, and using it currently but its definitely not what I expected. I somehow feel underwhelmed by it. Glad I got 30% off or I would have felt ripped off
The lips on the outside are hard so I dont see them protecting the unit from fall or impact damage really, the cushion is not like I expected its firmer and less of it there. I was thinking it would be more like my memory foam bed where I could drop my laptop on it from 2 stories up and it wouldn't get hurt one bit. Its also bigger around than I thought (almost exactly the same size as the oversized included sleeve for the 1000H, but yet less deep than I thought it would be thus it bulges with the EEE inside it.
It does its job tho and indeed it is better than your average sleeve, the tight fit means no moving around and the padding would suffice to keep it from any bumps from other things in your bag if say you toss it in a bookbag for school.
Maybe I just am spoiled by the leather case/sleeve I already have. I really like it alot and soon may "mod" it so that it can attach to my dash in my truck for using the EEE as a GPS system. -
I also like the Zeroshock case.
One thing I find funny about this thread though--everyone is writing as if one seller on Ebay is the only place to buy these cases. (By the way, are one of you writing here that Ebay seller?)
The main retailer of these cases is the company that makes them Shinza. They have a US division, that sells the cases directly to the public. The price is no higher than from the Ebay seller, and there is a 30 day full-refund return policy, while Ebay guy has a 7 day return with restocking fee policy.
Go to the Shinza site at:
http://www.shinza.com/
Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell to resellers, but only directly to the public. I assume they don't get enough stock, that the company in Japan does not produce enough, to justify distribution to resellers.
Since they only seem to sell directly, and not to third-party resellers, one has to wonder how did ebay seller get his stock. Are they seconds, refurbs, that Shinza wanted to get rid of, and sold to him very cheaply? (Although he charges the same price to end users that they do.) Or did he get a shipment that was stolen in transit somehow? I have no idea, but it does seem strange if a company that otherwise sells to no retailers, but only directly to the public, would sell to one seller on Ebay, although to no one else. Something seems fishy about it to me.
Yet, on this forum, whenever the Shinza zeroshock case is mentioned, there is always a link to the ebay seller, as if he is the only source for the product, with no mention of the shinza site.
Might Ebay-Yap be writing under a few different pseudonyms here, for free advertising? -
Prince_Phoenix Notebook Consultant NBR Reviewer
They sell them in the electronics district of Akihabara in Tokyo.
It's worth going with that Japanese Ebay seller if you're looking for ones that are out of stock: http://shinza.com/product_info.php?products_id=76&osCsid=bd2408f12920dc50cc993874953253b2
I can't speak for the American ones, but that's why I placed an order with them, and it came in perfect condition and genuine.
This is the one I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/12-0-12-1-Lapto...1524151QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 -
Quite possible.
However, I also suspect that one or more of you are Ebay seller Zap. -
I can assure you that I am not Yap. I am in Los Angeles, and through buying from him on several occasions, I know he is in Dallas, TX or thereabouts.
If you would bother reading, you would see that Shinza has been discussed her. Unlike Yap, they rarely have a full selection in stock, and frequently, most of the things on their site are out of stock with no indication of when they will come back in stock. My experience with Yap, however, is that it is a much more personal shopping experience. I have emailed him with special requests, and he has always accommodated me.
Shinza's items, when in stock, are also sometimes more expensive, for some reason. Overhead, I guess.
Nice try, though.
You can also see that I have posted on a wide variety of subjects, not just the Zeroshock. Perhaps YOU are connected with Shinza in some way....hmmmm... -

Do you even look at the profiles/past posts of the users who have recommended this guy?
Your last post on this was already quite effectively debunked by built, but here's another perspective, from a user who decided to buy the ZeroShock from eBay yap, or as you like to call all of us, eBay yap himself.I recently went through a bit of a scare with my Vaio SR, fearing I'd physically damaged its screen. Turns out everything was fine, but I decided that I needed to take better care of my notebook. I stumbled onto this review and decided this sleeve was exactly what I needed and have stayed in this forum to try and find the perfect laptop bag to match the sleeve.
I obviously looked at Shinza's site first, but just about everything was out of stock, and when I calculated shipping, it was $10, just like the eBay seller and the original prices on Shinza was higher. I did find another sellers selling the sleeve on eBay, but I missed the auction, so I bought directly from yap. The item I ordered arrived in shrink wrap, perfect condition on a Tuesday when I only ordered on a Saturday. So, I can say from personal experience that NO, this item is not a used notebook sleeve and no, there aren't any shenanigans.
Users recommend this guy because he's the only person selling this sleeve REGULARLY. As in, you search for his store, you'll find them in stock. This is not the case for Shinza, and not the case for individual sellers who have decided to sell off their sleeves every once in awhile on eBay, which then depends on your luck in catching the auction. Seriously, if there is another source selling them cheaper that has them in regular stock, I'd be more than happy to add them to my list of recommended sellers whenever I post, but the fact of the matter is, the Shinza store is not at all reliable when it comes to stock and does not have better prices, and people don't post other sources because unless you feel like waiting for shipping from Japan from the other seller on eBay, there aren't that many great sources for the sleeve for US buyers. -
-
What's the hold up? I've been waiting for almost two weeks now for Shinza.com to get them back in stock. They hadn't replied to a single email of mine and they left a little message at the top of the screen saying that new shipment will come "next week" and that "more details will be posted here shortly"... three WEEKS ago.
Bad impression. But I will be waiting -
I know this is not going to make you feel any better, but the Shinza site has been showing "out of stock" on the majority of Zeroshocks for over a month. I hope they are not stringing you along.
One poster on here got pretty aggressive about sticking up for Shinza and talking down the Ebay seller from whom most of us bought our Zeroshocks. Your post just confirms what I suspected about Shinza.
Meanwhile, I now have 5 Zeroshocks and Yap2528 has, in each case, shipped quickly. Maybe you should see about cancelling your order with Shinza and reordering off of Ebay. -
FYI...For those of you who also purchased an Acer Aspire One with 6-cell battery, I tested it with my own, and the 10" Zeroshock fits it like a glove, even with the battery which sticks out a little.
Just wanted everyone to know. -
Has the stocks of these sleeves gotten better? And why in the world are they out of stock for like weeks on end?
-
Thanks for the review Jaycee! Now I'm looking forward to buying one of these sleeves someday.
-
Yes, Shinza was out-of-stock of their cases for weeks. I don't know why. Perhaps there was a problem in getting enough of the material.
Now they have plenty in stock again. Their price is no higher than Ebay-YAP, yet shipping charges are lower (free shipping with an order of $75 or more, in fact), and they have a 30 day return policy, compared to the 7 day Ebay-YAP return. -
Shinza.com was out of stock of a lot of things last night. They must've just updated today.
Anyone with a Sony TZ have the Zeroshock III? I have the extended battery on mine and I was wondering if I should get the 11.1" or 12.1". -

Hey Jaycee~
Great review, didn't know good ones like those existed....off to eBay soon -
Don't forget the 30% ebay live.com cashback! I got too impatient and ordered mine before the cashback went online. Oh well. Only a couple of bucks, I guess.
-
Jaycee, your review made me look into getting this case! I'd probably buy it from Yap because of the Paypal cashback and Shinza's pricing/shipping is about the same as Yap's for me. I won't be buying $75 worth of cases just to get Shinza's free shipping. Anyway, a seller with multiple online personalities that give him good recommendations sounds OK to me.
-
The fact is that Shinza has been out of stock for many weeks on the vast majority of Zeroshock covers. Based on complaints from other individuals, communication from Shinza is poor and, to be honest, their service seems a bit uneven.
It seems that "Maiki" is just a little too intent to steer people towards Shinza despite the big question marks regarding their service. Perhaps "Maiki" accuses others, including myself, of being Yap, and posting under various screennames, because "Maiki" himself is doing that. Could it be that "Maiki" actually is connected with Shinza? Hmmmm...
People always seem to be the most vocal in accusing others of doing things that they are doing themselves.
'Nuf said. -
Well, depending on WHICH battery you have. If its the second, you should be fine, if its the third battery in the diagram it COULD be an issue but I doubt it. The "memory" foam in the Z Shock is so that it can compress all the way to the case skin itself.
Thank you -
-
Edited my OP with Sellers. I included yap2528 (ebay) and shinza.com. any others i should include?!?!?
-
Just got myself a Zeroshock III for my VAIO Z, found this review very useful! A bump up and a thanks!

How long did it take you guys to get the zershock III case from yap? I ordered mine on the 16th of dec and he said he'll ship the next day. I live in canada and i've been waiting on it for about a week now :/
-
Well its only been 6 days. Considering USPS (standard service) to Canada usually take 5+ working days. It should be here soon.
Did you get a tracking number?

Hey Guys,
Do any of you have any more pictures of this sleeve? I am on the verge of pulling the trigger but I would like to see some more pictures of the sleeve. Is there some sort of protective "lip" of sorts which prevents contact between the zipper and the laptop inside it?
Thanks in advance! -
Does anyone know if the 15 inch option of this notebook fits the HP HDX16t? The dimensions for it are 14.9 (W) x 10.0" (D) x 1.31 (min H)/1.70(max H). The dimensions for the Zeroshock (according to amazon, I've seen different specs here =/) are 15.9 x 11.8 x 1 inches. Will this fit? I'm hesitant of getting the 17 inch option because it'll probably be too big for it.
-
Equivalent question to alcatas, but for the Sony Vaio SR29 ?
Does the Zeroshock III 13 inch fit the Vaio SR29? -
-
Has anyone ever bought this sleeve with a laptop that was a couple mm too large? My LG P310 is 2mm too large in one part, but I'm almost willing to risk it anyways. If anybody has experience with buying the sleeve, would it stretch a little to accommodate such a small size difference?
-
hi. I have registered here just to let everyone know that this product is amazing! I never really post anything anywhere but I went out of my way for this one.
I have a Toshiba U300 and have bought this zeroshock III 13.3 " for it on ebay. Fits nice, practical sleeve to put papers and letters and it protect VERY well !!! TESTED!! yes, my laptop fell from 5 feet high and only the RAM got slighty dislodged, the rest intact. This product saved me 800$.
And yes.. I am very clumsy -
For example, the Zeroshock sleeve listed for the Acer Aspire One is for the 3-cell battery version. The 6-cell battery sticks out quite a bit, and the sleeve still fits the 6-cell version.
I have found that there is some additional room in all the Zeroshocks...and I have like 5 of them... -
Does anyone know if this fits the dell studio xps 13?
-
What size do you think I should go for?
my dimensions for my Asus N80VN-X5 are as follows:
13.39" x 9.85" x 1.43-1.47"
