If I were you I'd remove it. Mine didn't come with it and if it's going to damage your laptop you definitely don't want it in there.

That plastic handle is actually to help retailers and stores hang it up for display on the shelves, etc.. You can remove the hard plastic handle, try to pry it open with a lil force..

**Note: Do not zip up the sleeve with that handle and your netbook/notebook in it as it may cause scratches.**

Anyone have a recommendation on correct Zeroshock III size for a Dell Mini 10V with SIX-cell battery (the dumb one that sticks out the *bottom*).

In case you're wondering, I did not realize that the 6 cell would extend beyond the case when I ordered it *sigh*

    I'm getting the dm3z from hp . Its specs are 12.83"(L)x 9.06"(W)
Seems like the options for this case are 12.4x9.3 or 13.3x10.6

What do you guys think ?

^ Interested in the same thing.
I emailed the ebay seller (yap) asking the same question and got the following response:

"Yes this case will definitely fit Dm3 as I've sold this case to many dm3 customers. The case is made with high resitant polyurethance is is flexible enough to accomodate additional 0.4" on the width. So don't worry, it will fit."

I just wanted to see if there's any dm3 owners than can chime in as to how tight the fit is. I want to make sure the zipper won't be in contact with the dm3 because of an overly tight fit.

I'll be ordering from the ebay seller. He was very quick to respond and has tons of positive feedback.

I got a good deal on this. I went to Taiwan over a year ago and got it for the equivalent of $12. It's still going strong with all parts working, especially the zipper which is where i thought it would fail first.

I ordered my 13.3" ZeroShock III for my UL30VT A1 from the ebay site and it arrived quickly. The sleeve is better than I had hoped... a bit roomier than I expected and it didn't have the plasticy smell I read about. Looks and works great... I highly recommend it.

How much roomier? Do you think the U30JC will fit since it is about half an inch longer and wider?

I don't know. The UL30VT has a bit of room to slide around, and it easily zips shut with a bit of room to spare. If a 1/2" wider laptop were to be able to be squeezed in it would make for a pretty snug fit I suspect. I know there are U30JC users that can speak about the ZeroShock III and their laptops. Have you posted the question on the U30JC owners lounge under ASUS?

One possible brand to look at... I considered the SFBags - WaterField Designs - Laptop Bags - Laptop Sleeves - iPhone 4 Case - iPhone 4 Sleeve - Droid X Case - Droid X Sleeve - iPad Case - iPad Sleeve - iPad Bag - Checkpoint Friendly - Travel Cases - Made in USA brand before buying the ZeroShock. They were more expensive but really well-made from the descriptions. I believe they were roomier and you can get different sizes based on specific measurements. Perhaps you should check those out too?

I am betting the screen is measured diagonally and from the dimensions provided earlier (L: 14.6 inches (372.8 mm) W: 9.6 inches (245.1 mm) H: 1.4 inches (35.8 mm)) it would seem the 15.4 inch size would be the right one.

My ASUS UL30VT A1 screen is 13.3" diagonally and I have the 13.3" size ZeroShock III with a bit of room to spare.

I reckon you can contact the seller with questions just to make sure...

Does anyone know the difference between Zeroshock III and Zeroshock Advanced(aka Zeroshock IV)?

Also, is the Zeroshock Advanced worth the price premium over Zeroshock III?

I don't think the advanced is worth it over the ZSIII imho. The III has plenty of padding.

Haven't posted in a while, but I'm now using the Zeroshock III netbook sleeve on my iPad. The Zeroshock always comes through. I just keep the Zeroshock in the laptop section of my messenber bag, and slip the iPad (which is in a Yoobao Magic Case) in and out. Very convenient, and I have peace of mind.

Love my Zeroshocks...even two years later. My Toshiba 13.3 inch 2008-vintage laptop is still going strong despite having traveled the equivalent of going around the world at least a dozen times. The Zeroshock has kept it safe from bumps, nicks, crushing, etc.

I have several Zeroshocks and NEVER smelled a plasticky smell.

I'm also choosing between a Zeroshock III or a Zeroshock IV.

I checked the "Acer 3820TG Owner's Lounge" and hendrickson is using a Zeroshock III and he said it was a perfect fit ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...info-benchmarks-tweaks-mods-upgrades-51.html).

I think the extra protection from the Zeroshock IV would be better suited for my uses, as long as the fit was as snug (the dimensions show that Z4 is deeper by 0.5cm)! Can anyone shed any light on whether it is suitable for the Acer 3820TG?

    Cheers

Well, it doesn't look perfect in the depth departement. Surely still about 1-2 cm room.
It looks perfect fitting for the width.

Looking at the measurements by Elecom, the notebook wouldn't even fit in...

I read that for the Zeroshock IV, the measurements are even more nuts.

So you gotta buy the 12,1'' sleeve for a better fit in for your Acer 3820TG, or you want it to let it move around in the bag.
What doesn't appeal me further is the hight. It is said to have about 4,5cm room, which should be even more in reality.

The 3820TG is max. 3,5cm thick at the highest point. Way too much room left.

The new version looks way more sturdy, even going towards a hardcase, but the measurements are more sluggish and i miss the outer small pocket to put things in.

I surely won't put in any uneven things inside the bag. You can put in a notepad for making better use of the height, but that's it.

I think i am gonna order the Zeroshock III 13,3'' and the new Zeroshock (IV) 12,1''. One will go back, and the other one will become the protection for my notebook.

Agreed, the height is definitely a problem.

I emailed the vendor support team at GearZap and they said that the Zeroshock III 13.3" was a BETTER FIT than the Zeroshock IV 13.3" (however, the Z(IV) 12.1" does look like a better fit). It's difficult to make an objective decision since the dimensions are not accurate!

@SSJ -- do you mind posting up your findings here once you've tried both? I can quote them back into the "Acer 3820TG lounge" afterwards so that the others can know too.

    (edit: added in below)

From GearZap -- quoting internal dimensions in cm

    Acer 3820TG 32.4 x 23.5 x 2.9

    Z (IV) 12.1" 31 x 23 x 3.5 <<< in theory it should give the tightest fit
    Z (IV) 13.3" 33 x 23.5 x 4.5

    Z (III) 13.3" 31.5 x 23.5 x 4

I've been using the 12.1inch Zeroshock IV for the 3820TG -- Very good fit in all dimensions except depth. I've remedied it by putting an a4 notepad (student lifestyle ;) ) inside the case on the underside of the laptop and it fits very well afterwards.

Just wondering, but where did you guys order your 12.1" Zeroshock sleeve for your 3820TG?

I have the 12.1" III and the 13.3" IV, and neither fit as perfectly as I like.. The 12.1" is too small, and the 13.3" is too big, LOL.

Well, yesterday i received my 3 sleeves among other things.

    Zeroshock 3 13,3''
    Zeroshock 4 12,1"
    Zeroshock Premium 13,3''

I have to say that the Premium looks the best and is the best manufactured one, but also the most expensive one with 24€ (17€ for the IV and 14,5€ for the III).

But it is simply too big (slides a bit around inside it), that's some screwed up measuring Elecom has.
It should be more like 14,1'' bag. Too bad there isn't a 12,1'' version of the Premium. At some places it is even thicker than the IV.

In the end i think i am gonna go with the III, because it has the small pocket on the outside and it feels more non-slippy compared to the IV.

I just looked up that Premium version, and wow, it looks absolutely amazing! But if it's anything like the Zeroshock IV, it's probably overly spacious..

I have my eye set on the Zeroshock III because it seems to be the best fitting for my thin 3820TG.

It's not so much about the height, but the other dimensions are just way beyond a 13,3'' notebook.

I would say the Envy 14,5'' could fit in.

I was just about to order the 14.1" but it's apparently too small for my Envy 14. I've read mixed reviews about the 15.4" (MBP)... Although now I'm just anxious to get anything to protect the laptop.

I got a WaterField sleeve for my Lenovo T410s and I'm a little disappointed by how much bulk it adds to the overall package. It makes the T410s about as big and thick as my T500. How does the Zeroshock compare to the WF sleeve in this regard?

Does anyone know whether or not a Sager NP9150 can fit in a Zeroshock III 17 inch sleeve? While the 15 inch is wide and long enough, it lacks in depth. On the other hand, the 17 inch is one inch longer in both width and length.
