I have a question.
So this thread is not dedicated to figuring anything out, or even necessarily providing detailed information or data...
Does that mean we can start a razer bashing thread where no one can compliment them as long as the uselessness is more or less equal?
If not, why?

Enough Hate, I picked up the Deathadder Black And Goliathus Control last week and loving it! Put in at least 10 hours of bad company 2 and can really feel the difference.

I like Razer Naga its shiny with a lot of buttonz that i can bash.
p.s. however its my second razer naga. First one died within a week and i replaced it under warranty.

There's no rule against stating your opinion of a company if you back it up with reason. You cannot, however, attack or flame other members of the forum ad hominem.
This is, after all, a site based around reviews. If your review is negative, it is no less valid. No company is perfect and the only way they will ever get better is by reading the customer feedback, so they can know what we like and dislike. It would be actually counter productive to the industry we are supporting to only talk about the good experiences we have had with our products since no light would shine on the problems that are often significant. An example of this is Alienware's R2 driver issues that were fixed largely due to the participation of those on the forums here.
However, even though it's not technically against the rules as far as I know, comparing two products will often inexplicably get your threads locked or posts deleted. The obvious (but not only) example here would be comparing OSX to Windows. Regardless of how valid your opinion may be, I don't think that people like it when they are told they've made a bad purchase. This is counter-productive to the forums since a lot of people come here asking for purchasing advice and can't hear both sides of the story.
So there's absolutely nothing wrong with making a thread pointing out all of the problems with Razer or any other company. It's the only way they will learn and move forward. Threads like this are rather pointless except to reinforce whether or not their current products and methods are effective, which they already know mainly through sales numbers.
Razer does, after all, have many flaws. Quality control and customer service are lacking, along with reliability to some degree. Their products are amazing when these problems don't come into play. -
I had myself Razer Lachesis original edition and I really liked the built, the feel of its surface and the handling. Quite a well built mouse with no unnecessary 50 side buttons and 5kg of inter-changable weights. It just gets the job done.
However, I had to step up my game and did "Leap of Faith" towards Gigabyte's GM-8000X Ghost.. and thats like the best mouse ever.. for its price and ease of macro-ing, far better than Roccat's. Whats more, this Ghost is still working after a year with no sign of tear n wear (I do take care of my gear) and strong braided cord sure has a strong tooth too! (Lachesis works 2nd year now and going 3rd thou!)
Also owner of Razer ExactMat, great thing especially with 2 different surfaces. The rough gritted one especially is good for Photoshop too!
Got no experience with Customer service or QC since neither product went wrong.
Additionally, got myself frosted glass mat (not the IceMat thou, this one is "random" brand). Never played on such smooth surface, its so godly and it warms up so doesnt stay cold like the Razer Exactmat aluminium. However-Big disadvantage of glass pad - condensation of water from palm occurs a lot. -

i bought Deathadder 2-3 years ago when the brand was getting popular.
it was the best purchase ever.
its button got spoiled..became hard to click.....and problem is that they dont have service center in many countries.
but otherwise..it has lasted me longer than any mouse ever..
hell...it lasted longer than my notebooks lifespan..lol -
Got a question for all you Razer fans, especially those with Orochis. There's a chance I might be getting one in the near future to compliment my Alienware m11x and my question is this: is the bluetooth acceptable for gaming? From cruising around the web I've noticed that some people claim it isn't, but most of those were reviews, so has anyone got first hand experience? I want it regardless, but would be handy knowing this beforehand...
Any other comments on the Orochi are welcome as well! -
It depends on the type of game you're playing.
Long story short, Bluetooth mode has 8ms latency, while wired mode has 1ms. I wouldn't rely on the Bluetooth mode for fast-paced shooters or anything else that requires twitchy reflexes, but it'll be fine for RPG's, RTS, things of that nature.
The way I see it, the Bluetooth mode is a thing of convenience when I'm taking notes in class or just browsing or whatever, but if I'm going to be playing games I'll whip out the 3 foot cord.
The cord fits in the carrying pouch with the mouse itself, so it's not a hassle to have it with you wherever the mouse goes.
Overall, I'm very happy with my Orochi. It's definitely one of a kind; there really aren't any other hybrid gaming grade portable laptop mice out there. The G700 comes close, but it's substantially larger than the Orochi and requires its own USB transmitter, although it's quite small. -
Thanks for that, it's mostly for casual gaming so either works alright. Looks like I might be getting it as a birthday present so I'm sure I'll be happy with it regardless

If your a competitive FPS gamer, no. If your just a normal casual gamer its probably fine.
I use BT all the time for gaming and do just fine. I just have it randomly disconnect on me though and thats usually an instant loss in SC2 for me -
Hmm, I've never had any disconnect issues, either on my netbook or my old Dell laptop when it still existed...works fine with my mother's as well. Are your Bluetooth drivers up to date?

I'm planning on getting either a razer Mamba or Naga Epic. Since this is a razer fan page, I'll post my questions here:
1. On average, how long does a razer product last?
2. How's the build quality of the mice (IE: Do razer mice loose the rubber padding after sometime or does it stay on)?
3. I can't decide on either the Mamba or Naga Epic. I know they are designed for two different types of players, but I'm a little in between. I plan on heavily focusing on 2 games in the future: Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3. Maybe some Torchlight 2. Definately Mass Effect 3. -
1. There's no "time limit"...if it's not defective and it's cared for properly, there's no reason a mouse can't last 10 years. My oldest is an original 2007 DeathAdder that I originally bought at a heavy discount as a display model, so it had already been handled by hundreds, if not thousands of people before I got it. After I replaced it, I handed it off to a friend, and it's still going strong with her.
2. I've had no significant issues with build quality. None of my mice have shown any signs of peeling of the rubber texture. The only things that have worn down are the Teflon feet on my older DeathAdder, but that's to be expected, and they sell replacements. Also, on my Mamba, one of the rubber side grip cushions started becoming loose at the corner, but that was fixed with half a drop of glue.
The only one I've had to get replaced was my Carcharias headset; the microphone just stopped working one day. It was still under warranty, so they sent me a free replacement and it's had no trouble since then.
3. I guess that's really not a question anybody else can answer for youIt really comes down to personal preference...since you play a lot of RPG's, you'll probably make good use of all the buttons on the Naga Epic, but on the other hand, it's probably a little clumsy for more fast-paced shooter games.
I've never used the Naga, so I can't comment from personal experience, but I love my Mamba. -
I love my Lycosa and Lachesis.
i razer!
