Why don't you try solve the issue by troubleshooting the laptop instead of complaining all day long?

first its not a single issue (if the admin didnt delete my reply you could probably see what i mean)

    second i tried a lot

third what can i do about build quality, designing flaws and the fact that acer service centers around europe cant cope with the recall and they cause more damage than fixing the issue instead replacing the faulty laptops (as they do in most cases - I feel very lucky that i got a new replacement laptop).

    Doesn't this solve the issue?
Or you have issues with the replacement?
Or you need to vent your anger on Acer?
IMO when the problem is solved all is well.

goldeneye215 Last warning. I won't delete the last replys but PLEASE stop posting crap and stay on topic. No it's not censorship. If I post a question like for example "My ODD in my Acer has dead, can you tell me how to remove and install a new one" and you respond "Acer is crap, get a new laptop" well that's not very helpful neither on topic, is it?

If you want to discuss Acer's quality create another thread or use some of already existent ones. If you have a problem with the moderation please PM me or our lead moderator or an admin.
    Thank you.

i feel lucky (got the replacement 40 days after they took the 3810T for service) because Acer simply does not give replacement whatever the issue.
i have 3 issues with the replacement. build quality, wifi reception (the problem comes and goes without any logical explanation) and the screen flickers when on minimum brightness

it is no anger it is a warning.

i dont have problem with admin but you cant say that the description of my experience and opinion is crap and offtopic. also you could have deleted the problematic part of the message not all of it.

1)Built quality is subjective which part of built quality are you unhappy with? Didn't you actually have a feel of the laptop before you bought it?
2)Wifi Reception go to laptopvideo2go.com forums to update the Atheros Drivers for drivers uninstall the old version before installing the new version.
3)For screen flickering update the Graphics/Chipset/Storage Driver, Intel recently released a new batch of drivers which are compatible with Aspire 3810.
If you had voiced out the actual issue I would have told you all the fixes I did long ago.
Sure you might be displease that Acer don't offer driver updates frequently but this doesn't mean the issue isn't fixable.

But TZ and T are suppose to use the same chassis very difficult to believe there is a difference in quality.
Another thing you can try is set the device driver setting.
Enable enhance throughput and drop roaming aggressiveness.
Also you can set Control Panel advance power management power plans set the powersaving to to higher performance settings.
Also you can Intel Display Power Management to utilise higher performance mode.

everything depends on the reputation of the acer service in your country. i think the best solution is to demand a new acer timeline to avoid any problems due to service.

weinter thank you for your advice
changing the gpu profile when on battery helped me got rid of the flickering but reduced battery stamina by almost an hour. hope that they will release a new driver that fixes the issue and not just changing the icon on the taskbar.

I am using my 3810T since August 2009, build date is June 2009. I never had any problems with it. But just for security measures I did the online check. Strangely enough, it told me the following :

" Dear , (really no name)

You have already submitted a request for repairing the unit or to be contacted by the Acer contact center.

In case you have not been contacted, please get in touch with our customer care quoting the Reference Number : PACXXXX

    Regards,
    Acer. "

Quiet funny, considering that I never submitted any request to repair my laptop.

UPDATE:This only happens when I use the serial number. When I use the SNID it tells me that my laptop is not affected and doesnt need repair. So please, check both numbers before sending anything away.

My 3810t has a build date of June 8th 2009 and mine too is fine, except for this dark patch next to the touchpad on the left side. I now have an ssd and use RMClock to undervolt, so I doubt I will run into to many problems. Plus I just extended my warranty by 2 years.:

    Hi everyone,

I've purchased a second hand 3810T notebook from Acer a week ago in Japan.

Today, in order to download a user manual from their site, I accidentally find the recall message.

So, I type the serial number in order to check if my machine is affected and then I find out that my serial number contains 23 characters (an extra "R" at the end) instead of 22.

    What does it mean?

The thing is that when I do the submission without the extra character, I get a message saying that my machine is affected by the recall.

    Quite confused here ;(

    Any idea?

Maybe the "R" stands for "Repared"?? ahaha ;)

if it is second hand then the R is probably "refurbished".

it probably has already been repaired if it is a factory refurb

    I hope you're right! ;)
    BTW, I love this machine.
My old Samsung Q45 has found a very good replacement.

I own an as3810t and I have only just realised that they're recalling my model after my battery has failed to charge. Hopefully they'll fix my battery as well as the microphone cable fault. As for sending in the laptop, I have a few queries:

->Do we pay for the courier to take the laptop away or is that paid for by acer?
->What has been your experience of sending in your laptop? (estimated time etc)

Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks
