HOWTO:
Get SetFSB:
SetFSB_HomePage
OR
Get SetPLL:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...-use-setpll-overclock-your-r2-over-166-a.html
Get MSI Afterburner:
Afterburner 2.1.0 download from Guru3D.com
HOW TO: Enable UNOFFICIAL overclocking mode in MSI AfterBurner
Set MSI Afterburner to "start minimized" under Options.
3820tray start it automaticly on Overclocking ATI and Kill it on switching to INTEL
to Switch Graphics ATI/Intel Via Profile you have to Configure Hotkeys in Catalyst Controlpanel:
1. Open Catalyst Controlpanel
2. On The TopRight Corner in the Options Dropdown Select Hotkeys ->HotkeysManager
3. Select Hotkeys for HD 5650
4. For ATI set Hotkey to Ctrl+Shift+Alt+A
5. For Intel set Hotkey to Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E
now 3820tray can switch the Graphics via Profile for you
to add Devices and Services you want control via Profile:
1. right click on 3820tray icon -> select options
2. in deviceslistview rightclick -> select AddDevice
3. check the devices you want to control and click "ok"
to create a profile
1. click on the devices you want to turn off until they are "red"
2. i.e. select "Overclocking" and set it to 150MHz
3. i.e. select "Execute Programm" and set it to "C:\Programms\EA\Need for Speed\NFS.exe"
4. set "Name:" to "Play NFS"
5. click "Save as Profile"
6. close the optionsdialog
7. select "Play NFS" from icon Contextmenue
3820tray overclocks now your CPU and then start NFS
to apply some settings on the fly
1. click on the first devices (ie. webcam) you want to turn off until it is "red"
2. click on the second devices (ie. Wifi) you want to turn off until it is "red"
3. set "Apply GFX Powersaving" to "Enable Powermanagment" and "MaxBattery"
4. click "Just Apply"
3820tray only apply the selected options without creating a profile
to create a desktopicon
1.create your profile...
2.select "Execute Programm" and set it to i.e. "C:\Programms\EA\Need for Speed\NFS.exe"
3.click "createShortcut".
3820tray creates a desktopicon that executes your profile and then start your app. it use the icon from the application
more to come . . . -
Any chance for this program to work at least partially with a 4820TG?
I don't need it to overclock or anything.
The only functionality I really want is to disable automatic switching of GPU. I want to run on the Intel HD all the time (even when I'm plugged in.) I will manually switch to the ATI card if I need it (rare.)
Awesome program by the way. It's just behaving a bit weird since I don't have a 3820TG -
-
Awesome, just figured out how to add devices in 3820tray. I just disabled the Radeon and installed Intel HD drivers.
-
update v09:
-fixed some bugs
-added full cpu fancontrol -
My download keeps on freezing around 63kb. Is there an external mirror?
-
I am thrilled by your tool. Hope to see soon all new developements.
Question: Temp read by the tool is higher (10-15°C) as what I get from other tools such Core Temp. Is this a bug, or are your tool's settings better for 3820 as the others?

trying to use this with a 4820tg and I am able to get the program running inthe tray, but when i try to open the program by double clicking, I get an error and the program shuts down

update v10:

-added full ATI Fan Control !!! (experimental)
-added "Apply Profile on App" (experimental) -
update v11:
-fixed some bugs -
cannot use it at all.. crashed each time i tried to open it.
-
-
had to put it at C:\3820tgtray to make it work.
sorry for my bad english. -
I have the same problem.
Windows 7 x64 Home Premium. v11 won't even launch, it just generates a windows crash report.
Putting the app in the root dir does not help. -
-
Oh blast it. Well, I deleted the old folder and redownloaded the v11 (it is not in the root right now by the way), and it suddenly started working.
The problem is that I don't know what made it work. I installed Windows 7 Service Pack 1 you see. I did have all the parts before it though, like .NET framework, both the v2 and v4.
Either way, it just works now. No problem. -
The v11 zip-file is invalid.
-
Unfortunately, I can't get version 11 to work at all. Not sure where the error log would be? Every time I open it just says 3820Tray has stopped working. V9 works though!
-
sometimes it helps to delete the settings. you can find them in userdata->"AppData\Roaming\3820tray" -
v11 doesn't work for me either, while v9 works.
3820trayError.log doesn't exist and it isn't written if I create it manually. Deleting the profile data didn't help.
This is the output from the windows crash log:
Code:Beschreibung: Stopped working Problemsignatur: Problemereignisname: CLR20r3 Problemsignatur 01: 3820tray.exe Problemsignatur 02: 1.0.0.11 Problemsignatur 03: 4d8b9ae3 Problemsignatur 04: mscorlib Problemsignatur 05: 2.0.0.0 Problemsignatur 06: 4ca2b851 Problemsignatur 07: 349e Problemsignatur 08: e1 Problemsignatur 09: System.IO.FileNotFoundException Betriebsystemversion: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Gebietsschema-ID: 1031

do you have a "atiadlxy.dll" in your windows\system32 folder ? this file come with catalyst and is needed for ATI fancontrol.
pls check Open Hardware Monitor | CPU Temperature, Fan Speed, Voltages, Clocks and More it should show the temp of your ATI (it use the same dll) -
This seems ! Nice work.
If you need any info to get this fully functioning with the 4820tg I'd love to help!
This is just what I need. -
-
I picked the file from Acer's driver package and copied it to sys32. (I'm on Catalyst 11.2). -
I can't download the files attached to the first post at all. It seems that they are offline.
Can you provide a mirror?
I really want to get rid from automatic switch between discrete and integrated graphics!
[EDIT] I've download it, but I crashes on startup. I've also copied the dll to system32 and the Open Hardware Monitor works. Can you tell me how to make it works?
Thanks again! -
do you copy more files or just this?
pls check if it work if you delete it in system32 and put it in 3820tray app folder.
if so i will include it in 3820tray.zip in future ... thx -
-
could someone post a youtube video showing this program working.
i.e. before / how to/ after oc of gpu
before / how to/ after oc of cpu
before / how to / after fan changing cpu + gpu
it would be very informative.
also does this program remember the settings, on reboot ? can i revert to factory settings ? -
I'll do some more testing after work
EDIT: can't reconstruct the issue -
Even with the "disable switching", my GPU still switches to the ATI discrete one when I plug in the power :/ It is disabled everywhere, I don't want the ATI to kick in unless I tell it to. How annoying...
Also, my v11 suddenly started working too, but it always crashes on exit. The error log says:
0:27:11.722:oContextmenueSetup
0:27:11.738:oContextmenueSchemes
0:27:11.738:oContextmenueSpeed
and the Windows Error log says:
Description:
Stopped working
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: CLR20r3
Problem Signature 01: 3820tray.exe
Problem Signature 02: 1.0.0.11

Problem Signature 09: System.NullReferenceException
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3

Any ideas? -
I gave up getting this to work for now. v11 wouldn't even open and instead gave an error and v9 would open, but just gave a blank screen for fan control options which is the main reason I downloaded it. I'll wait for a newer version.

At the early time of HT release (Pentium 4?) no program was really able to use this feature to speed up the speed of the program or reduce the runtime. At this time it was useful to disable the feature and overclock the CPU a few MHz more.
In the last years, all modern programs were written to use the HT function to speed up the execution of the program. If you disable this function, you will slow down the program more than you speed it up through overclocking.
In short, HT creates two independent waiting queues and the CPU take the best fitting commands from the queues to get a high efficient execution of all the commands.
It’s comparable with two cash points at the supermarket instead of one.
A single threaded mPrime is a "wrong" benchmark in this case. -
I agree with Just_a_Nick on this.
-
-
some people think that caused by pci-e rate change
-
inteks, on another forum I found information on how to disable/enable pop-up window that asks you whether you want to switch graphics or not every time you plugin//unplug the power cord. It seems like if that pop-up window (hide=true) is disabled, then your program WILL NOT prevent graphics autoswitching. So you should also make sure this is set in the registry:
Code:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ATI\ACE\Dismissables\Eeu\Graphics\PowerXpress] "HidePowerXpressWarning_32"="False"
- "True": Popup window will NOT show and will automatically switch graphics
You may need to do some more testing to make sure it works fine for all systems.
Cheers! -
btw i will soon upload a version with some bug fixes. -
