    First of all...

Hi there, I'm new here in this forum, I'm from Portugal, and i have a powerfull machine waitting to be messed by me (LOL).

So, i own an Acer Aspire 6935G, featuring:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz
    320Gb Hard Drive
Geforce 9600M GT featuring 512MB dedicated memory
    4Gb DDR3 RAM

none of this was upgraded after i bought it, it came just like that from the store, so now i readed somewhere over the internet that if i update my bios to 1.10 and to 1.13 (i think) i can get an extra performance over RAM and Graphic Card. Is this true?

If so, How can i do the upgrade? I went to the Acer Europe Website, choosed my laptop model and then i've downloaded the bios that i mentioned before, and unzipped the files. it gave me a folder with some files, and if i'm right i must run the InsydeFlash.Exe to upgrade the bios. Is this right? Can someone please tell me how to upgrade it right.. I just don't want to transform my powerfull laptop \m/ in a piece of garbage...

I say too that the upgrade isn't necessary, but since it can gave me an extra performance, i would like to proceed with it...

    cumpz

I doubt a bios flash will improve your performance , they are mostly support for new processors and certain small fixes.

You take a big chance of killing you notebook if the flash goes bad , and Insyde bios are not user recoverable at the moment, that means you will have to return it to Acer for repair and they will charge you.

It is most likely the InsydeFlash.Exe that you need to run , but do a reboot before flashing and don't run any other software before flashing , and make sure you are on mains power not battery and all power saving is diabled.

So, i won't get any extra performance in my machine right? i've readed (and i think it was in this forum) that my RAM could run from 800Mhz to 1066Mhz and the graphics would improve too... i could have readed the wrong thing...

If you have a cpu with a 1066 fsb and you have 1066mhz ddr3 memory and cpu-z is saying it is running at 800mhz , flashing can possibly fix this problem.
