    Hello,

I have TravelMate 5720, and I did follow all instruction in this thread, and everything was fine. All drivers are set correctly including AHCI.

However, when I try to restart/shut down my laptop, the system freezes.

    Any help is really appreciated.

    Mike

a little more info would be helpful.

    did the XP install complete?
at what point does the system freeze??
Does this occur durring bootup, or does it lockup only after clicking the icon to shut down/restart?

have you installed all applicable windows updates?

    Hi

I've had the same problem, the cause of the problem is something to do with the webcam drivers. The only way that i hv overcome this issue is by disabling the webcam is Device Manager.

On my laptop it shutdown alr8 :D
