I cant seem to find any 1690series service manual on google or on this forum for an hour or more so i'll go ahead and create a new topic and i hope you guys can help me through this.

    My question:

    1. Does the processor resides along or nearby the fan section?

    2. Which is the fastest way to detach the portion covering the processor since i wanted to upgrade it? I am worrying that i might end up unscrewing everything which might not be necessary. Please let me know if there's any comprehensive guide on changing a processor on this laptop.

    3. Does the processor shares the common heatsink with my X700 GPU?

In any case, what i really need it the guide to upgrading the processor. Please help and thanks in advance!

turn ur laptop, so u have the lowercase in front of you. unscrew the cover on ur righthand-side and remove it, u'll see the fan. make sure u pulled out the powerconnector and removed the battery. unscrew the cpu fan (3 screws) and pull out the fan-cable.

    3. Does the processor shares the common heatsink with my X700 GPU?
no, as far as I know. just make sure u put the fan-cable back in :)
