    Hi...

Some time before i downgraded my 5920 to winXP, but i had may problems with the drivers.

Now i want to return to winVISTA using the hidden partition

I couldnt...when i press Alt+f10 the laptop just boots to winXP

I did a driver backup dvd when i was on vista...so i decided to upgrade to vista using (im sad to say it) illegal version

Because i thought the hidden patition for backup needs winVISTA

So i restored all drivers & all acer progs (eRecovery) to my 5920 with this illegal version of vista...

Now i tried again to recover my OS using the hidden partition but also it did not boot..

When i used Alt+F10 it just boot to vista that i installed

Note: all settings in bios are returned to default + D2D is enabled

So, what to do now, I want my OS return to the original vista i had from the hidden partition.

ANd how to boot from the hidden partition again???

    Please HELP!!! (SOS) :(

I hope I'm not going to get in trouble for even answering you. Some forums get very touchy about anything questionable like using pirated copies of Windows, and punish the original poster plus anyone who responds.
Can you go into Control Panel>Computer Administration>Disk Administration and look at your partitions? Do you see just one partition? If you allowed XP to write to the entire disc, then your recovery partition (rp) is gone.
I still haven't figured out all the hurdles that Acer places in the way of accessing the rp. Sometimes it's there but you can't get to it if you know what I mean.
Other times, like maybe in your case, the rp is just gone and so is the option of recovering from the HDD.
You didn't create recovery discs when it was new?

If your vista install is toast and you have no recovery options, download a copy of PCLOS or Ubuntu or Simply Mepis, burn it to a CD and head on over to the Linux section of the forum.

You won't be using an illegal copy of a closed-source OS anymore, so your conscience will be clear!

I still have the recovery patition (2 partitions to be precise, C,D and 2 hidden partition)

    Only did drivers backup..

I only want to know how to boot from it...

I only used the illegal version to get back my original version....thats all

Im not asking for illegal stuff here........I hope you understand.
