hey, I have just got my laptop today. It is a Acer Aspire 5741 running Windows 7. I went to go and update the BIOS via the Windows way and it said something along of the lines that it had failed. The computer had stop responding for 10mins so I remove the battery. When I restarted the laptop, it seems that the BIOS failed to load.

I have been looking for solution however none of them work.

Could you people post any solutions that I can do, so I can get the laptop working again.

you should have not done the bios update through windows. its bricked now and you will have to send it in for service.

is there no method which I can use to recover the laptop. Such as adding some of the BIOS files to a memory stick and boot it to fix it? I've seen some methods for the Aspire One and its something like Fn+Esc and press power, is there one for the Aspire 5741

Why on earth would you be updating your BIOS as soon as you got your new machine?
If nothing's broken, don't try to fix it!

The BIOS that ships with the 5741 (v1.03) doesn't have hardware based DEP enabled (which is supported by the i5 in the machine). Some of us just want to have access to the features we paid for, and without a robust BIOS menu updating is the only way.

    I speak spanish sorry.

    IN SPANISH:

    1. Formatea un pendrive en modo FAT o FAT32.

    2. Descarga cualquier version de BIOS.

    IN ENGLISH TRANSLATED:
