anyone know where i could get a copy of windows xp tablet edition? (i know beggars can't be chosers but i'd prefer a non-restore disc, something with the ability for multiple licenses) my acer has s**t the bed and i've used the restore discs before, they just give me a few week of false hope before i need them again. my school's computer science department doesn't have tablet edition otherwise i'd be borrowing theirs. (umass lowell). they thought they did but it turned out to be just plain xp pro sp1. if anyone can help thank you very much.

I think you can "steal" one and install it legaly on your notebook as long as it the same OS you got now and you are using the Microsoft serial ID on the underside .

the only things i can find on ebay or google are for full computers w/ the system, no one seems to have the actual os, like someone would have xp pro or home to install.

Microsoft does not make the XP Tablet OS available to anyone except developers. Your restore CD set installs a clean XP Tablet OS with the necessary Acer drivers anyways. What exactly happens that you need to reinstall so often? My 303 has been running over six months from the original install with no issues.

the problem started when i had updated my AIM, it had a conflict with my earthlink toolbar so i unstalled them both but they had messed up the properties of the windows installer, after restoring it worked fine for a while, then began saying there was an error or that one of the system files was missing so i completly formatted the disc into ntfs and installed what my school thought was tablet edition, it was just regular xp pro sp1. so now i think i'll try restoring again after this fresh install. this is my 13th month with it, and before mid april i had had no major trouble with it, i still think it's a great pc just wish i could buy tablet edition to install it myself. thank you.
