So, I'm looking into getting a new netbook. What do you guys think of this one? Has anyone bought it?

It seems like a decent deal, and a half nice computer - for at least, what I want in a netbook. I don't want to shell out the money for the super thin ASUS laptop, or a MacBook Air.

This seems like it could be a decent substitute. One thing that gives me pause is the processor. It seems awfully slow - but the graphics from it is impressive.

    The C-50 is fairly slow.

Owners seem to like them though. http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...one-522-owners-lounge-amd-fusion-netbook.html

Go for it! I just saw this today. I recently purchased a Acer D255E at Costco, and plan on taking it back and getting this. I am happy with the D255E, but it is a little smaller, has lower screen resolution, and does not have HDMI. You can't always go by CPU speed alone. This is an AMD processor where the other two I own are Intel Atom processors.

I own a 2 year old Acer Netbook A0751h with a Z520 processor, 2gb ram, 11.6" screen and sometimes it seemed a little sluggish. I purchased the D255E and it is much faster, smaller and lighter, but the keyboard is also slightly smaller. I basically use these to watch TV shows will on flights (I fly about 12 hours/month) either recorded with Windows Media Center or copied from my digital DVR's. I have no issues with the new one, but the 2 year old one sometimes couldn't handle everything. Both of the Netbooks work just fine wireless streaming videos to my Media Center PC's connected to my big screen TV's.

Here are the Windows Experience Indexes of the three systems:

    A0751h (1.33ghz) - Overall - 1.9
    Processor - 1.9
    Memory - 4.3
    Graphics - 4.5
    Gaming Graphics - 2.6
Hard drive - 5.9 (I replaced the factory hard drive)

    D255E (1.66ghz) - Overall 2.8
    Processor - 3.3
    Memory - 4.6
    Graphics - 2.8
    Gaming Graphics - 3.0
    Hard drive - 5.6

    AO772 (1.0 ghz) - Overall 2.8
    Processor - 2.8
    Memory - 4.9
    Graphics - 4.1
    Gaming Graphics - 5.5
    Hard drive - 5.5

Remember, you have something like 60 days or 90 days to return it for a free refund from Costco, and you can't beat the 2 year warranty. I recently purchased one of the Motorola Zoom Tablets and returned it after 45 days or so, no questions asked.

    Hope this helps.

So I am interested. Did you get one? I am thinking about picking one up tonight.

I did pick one of these up and love it. It is slightly better than the D255E I bought in May, and plays and streams HD videos from my MCE systems without a hitch. When watching other videos with WinDVD I don't experience the slugishness when trying to open other windows or WinDVD selections. I toyed with keeping both the D255E and the 722, but went ahead and sold the D255 to a coworked. Next step is to replace the 2gb with 4gb, but so far memory has not been an issue. For doing light things like email or web browsing, this thing is perfect, but can still handle the tasks of playing HD videos, OpenOffice, and acting as a portable wireless media server.
