Why does Acer not release any 14 inch notebooks in the U.S.? I like the 5672 but I want something smaller and with more battery life. The 3012 is out because of the external dvd drive. Its just extremely annoying that they release 14 inch notebooks in europe and asia but they wont in the U.S.

There are other notebooks in the 14" catergory.

i really do not have any idea. but it is also possible that there may be an ODM (Acer) and OEM (branded company that buys the barebone machines from the Acer factory but brands them with their own logo and assembles them) agreement that a particular model branded by Acer will not be sold in a particular country because it would directly compete with the very same model bought, sold, and now carries the badge by an OEM company. this practice is done in other countries and is being done as well in the US. ever wonder why for example we do not have samsung notebooks directly being sold/marketed here in the US?
