    Hi2all :)

My all-time favorite sleeve is Philip's semi-hard sleeves. I have one for my 13" M1330 and it's great. First of all, it makes for a great sleeve. Secondly, one side of the sleeve is hard so that you can place the sleeve on your lap and lay the Notebook on the hard side, which allows for air circulation. It's a 2in1 deal :) Alas, Philips doesn't make one for the 11.6" crowd which is a shame and my 1810TZ is looking a bit silly in that 13.3" sleeve... :-/

So I had a look at a few others, including Crumpler's Wrappers" that sell pretty decent-looking sleeves tailored for the 751. They are also being sold through AmazonUK.

I ended up settling for Wrapper's Cordura black & Lumo Orange. This model costs 18.50GBP ($25~30) which I consider still reasonable, given the Crumpler and Philps models are both around €30 ($42). I ordered it directly from Wrappers (via Goggle Checkout) on the 4th Feb., got an email stating that is was shipped two days later and finally got it today. Considering it took three weeks I was a bit nervous; it turns out the package was postmarked on the 19th...

But I got it and it does look very nice, just like the pic :D Just know that GITD orange is really bright, reminding me of those traffic-control vests, lol. Fit-wise, just like a glove. If you look at the images, you will see that you cannot zip / snap the sleeve closed, there's only an "overlap" in the (orange) inner-sleeve material. However, there is almost zero chance that the Notebook will slide out of it. As a matter of fact, it take a minor amount of effort to get it out; not a problem, but that's why I can't imagine it falling out.

I should point out, in case it's not already clear, this is a rather thin sleeve and designed to be the "first layer of protection". In other words, you put your Notebook in the sleeve, you put your sleeve in your backpack or whatever. You could use it standalone, but I do not recommend it. There is no padding; the Cordura is very though (against scratches, etc) but not a fall. I bought it to fit in my backback and so I didn't want any added padding so that it would take the least amount of space ;)

Bottom line; for this price range and as a simple sleeve / 1st line of protection, I highly recommend Wrappers

This is only thread I could find that covered sleeves or cases for the 1410. If there are only perhaps someone could post links here too.

I've just bought a zeroshock type IV 11.1-12.1in sleeve. It's nicely made and very robust, BUT, it is no good for a 1410. There is 2.5cm on the long side and 4.5cm on the short side spare, plus the case is a wide for the 1410 so it doesn't grip it at all. The 1410 just slides about inside. I'm going to return it of course.

Any suggestions for a robust sleeve for protection in a rucksack with other stuff?

I have a Zeroshock III. The 10.2" version is exactly the right size for the 1410, even though it's described as 275mm x 40mm x 215mm internal.

Yes, that one is quite nice ( local review here), just note that the padding will take some extra space (which doesn't have to be a bad thing but my backpack has enough padding... I hope).

    Also nice :)

I bought my first Acer a couple of weeks ago (1410-2990) and got a Tuari Neopreme Sleeve which could not be more perfect for this device. They are sold at Taret for $12 and seem to be readily available. They literally fit the 1410 like a glove.

When I am traveling, I slip the sleeved 1410 into my briefcase with all the data I need for meetings. The notebook and the cover usually get a lot of comments when it gets pulled out at meetings.

I also have the $12 Tuari 10.1 neoprene sleeve from Target and it works prefect with the 11.6" Acers.

Thanks for that info. I've also come across the casecrown. The dimensions seem right and it has some corner elastic if need be. The video is impressive but not sure what would happen if it was dropped on its edge. I wonder if the type IV would fit too?

UPDATE: I went for the casecrown above. Fits just right, nice snug. I'd say the colour was more greeny grey than grey.

Is there still a place in the US that sells authentic ZeroShock III cases? I've tried Shinza, but they never reply to emails and when I did order, they never sent me the ZeroShock III I ordered.

What about ZeroShock IV? I haven't seen them for sale anywhere.

Thanks. Ordered a ZeroShock IV after discovering those yesterday.
