I was about to purchase the 1410t when I read that a dual-core model (1410tz) would be coming out soon. Does anyone have any idea what kind of time frame I am looking at if I wait?

The dual core 1810TZ will be out in N. America soon, no idea about a dual core 1410. What country are you in?

I'm in USA. The 1410t is the same as the 1810t in Europe. Isn't is going to be the 1410tz in USA that is the same at the 1810tz in Europe?

No, the 1810 is the "Timeline" model, meaning it fits in with the 3810, 4810 and 5810 with 8 hour battery life, unlike the 1410 with its smaller battery only getting 6 hours.

Besides the difference in battery size, they're the exact same laptop though, correct?

Unless I'm mistaken, the 1810t is not available in the USA. Instead, they brought the 1410t (smaller battery, but same otherwise). Will the 1810tz be coming to the USA or will they market that as another model?

I'd put my money on 22nd of October, together with Windows 7 release. Seems like many new notebooks will be released that date

+1. It doesn't make sense to develop a new laptop, and then sell a Vista version for a month.

Expect information to start leaking as we get closer to the 22nd. I expect that the items will ship sooner than that with the actual "arrival to consumer" happening on the 22nd. Between now and then we should see lots of cool toys :)

I just got the 1410t (w/ 3GB) for 350$cad+tax. Should i have waited 3 weeks for the 1410tz? I wonder how much faster is the core2 duo

For normal usage there won't be any difference.

Heavy multitasking and Youtube HD will run better on the Dual Core.
