Im a University Student and in desperate need of an additional battery for my Acer 1662. Price is not a concern as my parents will be paying and I need the laptop to make it through more than one class.
Should I buy a universal or is there a place on the net I can order a better 1662 battery? Im also worried universal batteries on the net that claim 5hours wont exactly give 5hours for a notebook like the 1662 so how can i know how much life they will give.
Currently im looking at this battery here:

Does anyone have any other suggestions? Also, what size plug do I need to plug the battery into the AC port? There are more than one size.
How many watts an hour does this laptop use?
Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, you can't use this battery for your notebook. It doesn't support your model. I checked the compatibility charts on www.valence.com and the 1662 is not a listed system. It only works with the 2000 series.

These are just external batteries that plug into your notebook where the AC normally goes.
I think the only way your gonna get a compatible battery for this unit would be to buy an original Acer battery. Unless it's a larger cell battery, it's not gonna give you more runtime.
