    1680 WLmi and optical drive

    Hi!
    Is it possible to detach optical drive witchout deassembling the whole computer? If so how should I do this...

    the optical drive is actually a modular unit n wat this means is that, u r supposed to be able to detach the unit even without taking out any screw.
    however, the design on 1681wlci has removed this modular feature as there's actually a mark for quick release lock(similar to the battery lock), but not implemented. There should b a screw hole near the mark i mentioned and unscrew it would pop out the optical drive. if it wouldn't come loose, try removing the 4 other screws that r surrounding the optical drive area.
    well, i hvnt removed the optical drive my own. this is the most i can help... [ :)]
