With Acer's ePowerManager thing, or whatever it's called, "MAX" gives me 1.5GHZ, "HIGH" gives 554MHz, "MEDIUM" gives 554MHz, and "LOW" gives 544MHz. I have a 1.5GHz, by the way.
Max - 1.5GHz
High - 554MHz
Medium - 554MHz
Low - 554MHz
Does this not seem a bit odd?
Also, how do you configure the graphics card? (16mb, 32mb, 64mb, etc.)
In the BIOS, It only gives the options of 8, 16, and 32, yet it should go up to 64.

Acer e power management have lots of problem... just run search here and there are lots of discussion on it
BTW : This is the next must have besides mobile meter
RM clock ...http://cpu.rightmark.org/products/rmclock.shtml
you can set the clock to your desired freq...lots of tweak available.
try speedstepxp also -
Yes it is odd, but it's also the way my 4502LMI reacts. I have played around a bit with it and it seems that setting it on max will only give you max cpu frequency. When I switch to high, the cpu frequency will fluctuate between 1.6 GHz and 600MHz depending on cpu load. If I go to Medium or low, it will never go above 600 MHz.
As far as video setting in the BIOS, I believe this setting is for the minimum video memory setting. 64 mb is your maximum setting. If you go to display properties, advanced and then the Intel Extreme Graphics tab, there is a information section somewhere on that tab that will tell you your min and max video settings. Changing the BIOS setting affects the min memory reading on this tab.

First of all unistall ePower management and Restart hopefully your old default windows xp power scheme will be resotred
Depending up on your need change the settings in power profile
Always on = stays at top speed
Portable/Laptop= Dynamic speed allocation
Max battery = stays at 600mhz most of the time and only if it very essential it will pump up the speed
else use RM clock...it can do wonders
1681 Clock Speed
