Is it adviceable to delete the old preinstalled partition just to install w7 ultimate?
I have on HDD 12GB of recovery partition, 100MB of system , and 280 of OS.
What would you do.. erase all and proceed with new fresh W7? Is it risky?

Yes. Delete it unless you want the Acer software (which is bloatware)

Other than that there is absolutely no reason not to do a clean install and know that your system is built to your liking. In fact, with Ultimate, once it is built as u like it, u can go into backup/restore and create a bootable exact image of your system at the time of the backup. U can create it on an external hd, usb, dvd's etc...

if you have the recovery discs, then yes, delete everything.
there is the smallest chance that one time someone will hit the restore buttons and it will all go back to previous (vista?)
its 12gb you can use for something usefull
