Hi, I am trying to get the Huawei EM770W card that came with my TZ to work with a different telco to the one that it came with software support for.
As part of trying to get it to work I uninstalled the software and drivers that came bundled with the laptop (Vodafone) and installed the Acer connection manager software that includes the drivers for the card.
One of the devices that it installed is a GPS something (can't remember the exact description) on com 7. It would be awesome if the card had GPS built into it but I cannot find any mention of it in the specs for the card and I could not get any GPS software to see a GPS device attached either.
So does this card have GPS? If it does has anyone got it working?

Yes, I have the same question.

With my Dell, the communications software has built-in GPS control (radio on/off, etc) but this level of control is not available with Acer's software... :-/

Clearly though the Acer SW is just a shell of Huawei's own comm SW. Maybe we should try to find the original Huawei version instead...

    EDIT: This looks interesting...

EDIT2: Rats... turned out to be Acer's own app&drivers, however they bumped me up one ver (2.0.3.825->2.0.3.827 drivers, 13.001.07.02.470->13.001.07.04.470 app). No added features, I'm afraid.

Seems though, that Huawei works with SW plugins & maybe there's a way to add a GPS control plugin. Once the GPS device is turned on, then you can use Google Earth, etc. without any other tools...
