Hi, I have just got myself a 1810tz a I was planning on getting an external monitor for photography.
I could not find on the net any specs for the max external resolution supported and I am worried I might get a display with a native resolution too high for the graphic card.

Can anybody tell me if resolutions higher than HD 1920×1080 are supported?
Does using the hdmi port or the VGA makes any difference in terms of max resolution?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

according to the chipset datasheet from Intel, the HDMI port is fed by a single link TDMS, which means a maximum resolution of 1920x1200.

As for the VGA connector: you don't want to connect something larger than 1280x1024 to the VGA port. Laptops have a lousy VGA signal quality.
