This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    1830T: PCI Simple Communication Device, Modem and Card Reader

    After some hassle I was able to match drivers to all the hw components except for two.

    In Device Manager there is an item called "PCI Simple communication device" that has a yellow ! and no driver. Since I dk what it is, I dk what driver to match; there is nothing that's left on Acer website that I can relate to it.

    I installed the only modem driver on the site, it appears in Control Panel/Programs. but I don't see it anywhere else and I dk if it works.

    Ditto for the Realtek card reader.

    Any ideas?
