Today i noticed on the back of my screen 2 small cracks on both side of the screen.

This acer is a little over 3 months old, bareley used ive never done anything that could cause 2 cracks to appear on both sides.

Now i suspect this is due to poor quality on that material but what if i call acer they are gonna say this is my fault ? I always open and close monitor very careful i paid alot of money 3 months ago for this baby.

    o my... f*** them all!

go get them! i think that's poor quality... if i am not mistaken, parts near the hinges do not get cracks like that... only on the frame of the LCD.

    sue them!

um, hate to "break" it to you (no pun intended) but this happened on my Travelmate 4000lci as well. I have had no problems with my 5672 as of yet, but I attribute the cause to extreme weight and torque put on the laptop while being transported. Mine was in my backpack every day for 2 yrs and it finally developed this issue.

This seems like standard stress in my opinion (I've seen it happen on dell's, hp's, compaq's, etc.) and can be dealt with in changes of how it is handled etc.

mine did that 1 month ago, i called acer, they asked 'did you drop it' i said 'no'

they said, word for word, 'well i guess we need to repair that, i will arrange Fed Ex to be there tommorow morning'

they fixed it in 1 week, including shipping

call Acer, they fixed mine, with the same crack, it even looks the same, as yours :)

if it doesn't bug you then don't worry about it i don't think it will fall apart.
