    Quick question :

Since my 2012wlmi came with a Banias, is it possible to upgrade to a Dothan in the future, or are we out of luck?

Sorry if this has been asked before...

While it might be possible to do so, it won't be an easy upgrade (technically speaking) and at that point in time your better off just getting a new system.

It is probably one of the most difficult upgrades that can be made to a notebook and depends on 1st that the CPU is socketed and not soldered in, cheaper notebooks usually solder them in to save money on the price of the socket. 2nd, the motherboard has to be designed to supply the different voltages that the dothan requires and 3rd the BIOS has to support the Dothan as well.
