I have just instaled a new hard drive in a 3050 and i have installed windows xp, as it used to have vista. i have installed all the drivers for sound, card reader, graphics and all is good. But, i cannot get the wireless to work, even after instaling the drivers. it will work with a wireless dongle ok and go online. Any ideas. thanks in advance.

You mind telling us what wireless card you have so we can help you search for XP compatible drivers? You are probably using Vista drivers, which could be a reason why it isn't working.

Thanks for quick reply.I am not sure what wireless card is installed.I checked in device manager and nothing listed.i have downloaded both from the list of drivers on the acer site, atheros and broadcom. Is there another driver that i need . How do i find out what wireless card is installed?

Did you check under network adaptors in device manager. This should tell you what wireless card you have.
-
no. there is no wireless adaptor listed there.only my wireless dongle listed

If it's not listed in device manager then something may be wrong. When you installed your new HDD, you may have accidently knocked it or unseated it???

i will remove the wireless card and check, and will let you know.
