I'm still considering the 3201XCi. Any gripes about it? How about the fan noise? Also, I still don't have enough evidence about whether or not it has bluetooth (the American version like the one Newegg sells). One person at Acer says yes, two no. Then, some here apparently believe that it does...

I have been using the 3201XCi for almost a month and its been very very good. I have been playing a few games of doom3 and cs on it and its quite satisfying of course you'll have to set video quality lower on what you're used to in deskops. I also just installed the omega drivers and it made my games smoother.

Fan noise isn't that noticeable except maybe on a very quiet environment.

Mine came with bluetooth and I use it to sync with my cellphone.

As a lot of people here are interested in the type of HD of this laptop, mine came with a Hitachi DK23fb-60 which I think is rated to be 5200rpm 8mb.

i been using my 3201xci that i got from newegg for about 2weeks now, carry it to school everyday. so far it's been great, light enough to be a portable while large/powerful enough to replace my old desktop.

I really do like this laptop a lot, however if i must complain, then i would say that altought it's got pretty good build quality, the case/shell is a little too soft for my taste. They did a great paint job, but it also gets scratched easily. The keyboard is a little loud at times, and somewhat soft/loose. Mouse pad is rectangular so it's a little more difficult to move cursor vertically. mouse button is good, a little too clicky but i can live with it. Battery last about 3.5 hours at lowest setting, the battery was designed to have anti slip grips; however, the US version has warning and stuff over the bottom so the battery isnt really that anti slip which i find kinda annoying when i carry it without the case. Fan is pretty silent without AC plugged in, only turns on from time to time when u start up. while on AC, it's almost always on, but the noise isnt too sharp, more like how a desktop power supply sounds, so it's pretty acceptable to my ears. The biggest downside of the laptop i think comes with the screen, I honestly feel they can use better screen with higher resolution and better color. It's not anywhere near bad, however, I believe with the design of 3201xci it deserves better.

Pros: Great design, Great look, good bulid quality, nice speakers, light weight, quiet, *hard wired* wireless / bluetooth control keys, latchless yet the magnet holds the screen tightly when it closes.

*Blue tooth is built in, i have borrowed my friend's bluetooth cell phone and both his phone and my 3201 were able to detect each other.

I have the XMi version and it is great I love the instant access to the bluetooth and WLAN via the buttons

The battery is great for such a thin and light notebook - I got 3.5 hours too

Very fast and the fan only comes on at start ups

Anyway I do not use the laptop for anything too taxing to others may have problems but for me its great - the build is up to standard too

    Help.......too late
