First of all I just wanted to say that I am really impressed and satisfied with my TM3200. It really performs like a charm nd I recommend it to anyone looking for a compact laptop with superior performance. []
Now to the main point: after reading recent posts about Acer supplying 4200rpm HDDs with their 3201xci model (instead of 5400, as advertised) I checked mine and was bummed to see I too was misled.
But thankfully I had an archived email directly from Acer saying that the 3201xci comes with a 5400rpm HDD which I used as evidence. Now they are also sending me a replacement (great customer service).
My question is specifically directed to anyone who has received a new HDD: does the new drive come with everthing provided on a standard Acer HDD preinstalled? XP, drivers, eManager etc. Or is it simply a formatted disk?
Also, as I have been using the computer for quite some time I have already amassed a great deal of data. What do you think the best way to transfer it would be? I'm guessing CD burning is probably best.
Finally, on a different note, there is an option in eManager that allows you to turn the fan on all the time. Is there any advantage to this? If not, why is it there? I can't think of any.
Any help is much appreciated. []
