    Hi,

Ive read of the backlit problems since my 3810 recently started to have display issues, but I don't think it is the backlight in my case. Here is what I observed

    1) Occasionally, the whole display is in stripes, black and whitish, blinking.
    2) When I move the screen it sometimes gets black until I move it again a bit
    3) Sometimes the display in windows gets messed up, a warning says "The display driver has crashed. Restored original settings"
    4) On the right hinge there is a weird cracking squeaking sound when I move the display.

I thought given the move of the display changes results and there were stripes (no 100% blackout) it was the display cable, so I ordered one

But I wonder whether it might be something else?? Anyone experienced the same problems?

    Cheers

    Hello,
I had a similar problem (stripes on display but not on the whole, see screen attached) and I almost solved it replacing the flat cable.
For your problem i would try first to change the flat cable because it is pretty cheap but if nothing change it could be the lcd (almost 40 pounds) or the gpu (pain).
