    3810TZ has the BEST webcam EVER, 1810 does not

    I bought the AS3810TZ from Amazon and WOW, the 1.3M Crystal Eye webcam is the best I have ever seen. The image was crisper than the top of the line $100 Logitech Webcam Pro 9000.

    My roommate and I spent 15 minutes comparing the image from both webcams and hands down the Acer web cam was better. I'm a video editor and into HD gear and the webcam blew my socks off.

    Unfortunately I had other issues and had to return the laptop and ordered a AS1810TZ from TG instead. It also claims a "Crystal Eye" 1.3 M webcam (according to spec on Acer site) but it sucks...really sucks.

    TLDR; Not all 1.3 M Crystal Eyes are the same. And the latest batch of the newest 3810TZ are amazing.

    I thoght the AS1810Tx's came with a 0.3 mp webcam not 1.3?

    Doh! Yeah I had the plastic thingy on there. It looks much better now...thanks. :p

    The higher rez3810TZ webcam still take the cake by far.

    The 3810's cam is indeed great (I have the Chicony model, dunno if thats tru for the Suyin as well). Even in the VGA (0.3MP) mode it is great for Skype etc., nothing to compare to the 1810 or, worse, one of the EEEEPCs (IMHO).

    The only thing is the low sensibility of the Microphone which prevents really relaxed videocalls.

    EDIT: I downloaded the newest Realtek drivers and now the option to boost the Microphone by up to +30db is gone, BUT its volume its much louder overall, i.e., perfectly working for recording or WebConferencing!
