Bronsky suggested mk electronics in Germany. I've searched the page and they don't have the timelineX line listed so I tried to do a search to see what's compatible but I couldn't find any results. I ordered a 3820TG with a 6-cell but for $150 more I could of had a 9-cell from a different seller. Not sure I want to risk cancelling my order with the 6-cell because availability has been a big issue with these things.

jerg made the excellent point that I should spend the $150 on something a little more useful for the machine but I think I'm set on somehow getting a 9-cell. Or at least an extra 6-cell but those are about $80 (CDN) on e-bay.

I'd like to find a 9-cell in Germany though because I have family there who could buy it and ship it to me. Could work out to be cheaper shipping costs for me ;-)

1: Looks like mkelectronics let their domain expire. does not inspire me with confidence.

Don't look for your model of laptop, take out your battery and find the part number on it and see if you can find it by that. For instance, on my 4820TG the part number is (turns over laptop and pulls out battery) AS10B5E. Copy and paste that into amazon or google. Adding 6000mah to the search got me to the good stuff (otherwise all the listings were for 4400mAh batteries.)

I must be doing something wrong. I click acer then aspire then 3xxx but no 3820tg. I glanced the other acer sections with no luck.

Contact them. You have to know the part number probably. I would contact them and see what the cost is. If you have family in Germany that can receive the battery, you can save a bundle in shipping costs.

I don't want to start a new thread to ask what the part number is for a 9-cell battery lol. I hope Pnissen is considering a trade though.

If not, I did grab the service manual but it's on another machine. I'll have a look at it ASAP. I hope it's there.

If that doesn't work out, when you're ready to order, just email them and they will quote you a price. I have ordered from them in the past and they are very responsive.

Thanks Michael. I contacted MK Electronics and they price the 9-cell at 95,45 EUR.

I'm a little puzzled at the part numbers though. MK has part# BT.00907.013 and Acer has part# LC.BTP00.119

Do you have any experience with MK Electronics Michael?

You're Welcome :) This looks like a nice price.

Perhaps the difference between "Spare Parts" as sold by MK and "Accessories" as sold by Acer directly. I am just guessing here.
No personal experience. MK is listed as official source for spare parts on Acer Germany Support website. So at least we can assume they sell genuine parts and no fakes from wherever.
