hello,
have only had a few weeks, been playing several games on it without any problems. played crysis earlier today (low settings, keeping my FRAPS in the 30's) slight oc on the card, but nothing crazy. everything was good while i played, no artifacts what so ever.then a few hours later, went to play again, and noticed artifacts.
did a re-boot to ensure that everything was re-set to default, and still have artifacts....
so does this mean that my video card has already given up the ghost?

My guess would be a corrupted driver. Uninstall, run driver sweeper and reinstall the latest Acer VGA driver. Reboot and see what happens. I would probably reboot in dedicated mode first to try it. You will usually get a BSOD if you destroyed your card.

It's also pretty common for Crysis to manage to corrupt it's own graphics. Had it happen once and had to reinstall to get it working right again. I remember I did something like change the texture settings and suddenly artifacts everywhere. Then I could never get them to go away by resetting the things I'd changed. A short uninstall / install cycle later and it worked fine.

thanks for the positive replies... it was the night before i had to return to work, removed and re-inistalled and it is actually working better now, seemed to have a hick-up every now and then, but is running smoothly,
oh, and oc'ing it adds a few well needed frames to help it run faster/smoother...
3820TG-3022 (HD5470). Has the video card crashed?
