i have a 3820tg using switchable graphics and the alien9 hybrid drivers v3. everytime i shutdown the laptop it freezes and i get the bsod...if i shutdown with the ati card active its fine but if i shutdown with the intel card active it fails. i tried reinstalling drivers of all kinds, flashed the bios.

not happening to anyone else?

use the latest switchable driver from 4820tg. It just got updated to the latest by acer. Alien hybrid is very buggy i heard.
-
Alien hybrid working fine here. Seems to me that your USB hubs have problems, if the dump file is anything to go by.
-
From quick google search it seems to be related to failed SP1 installation, which is probably because of those hybrid drivers. I would strongly recommend using latest official acer ati drivers.

already did that....currently im running the latest driver from amd. i did by the stacking driver method (switch to discrete, install, switch back). still freezes. tried just the acer driver and it still freezes...seems acer has like 3 different ati drivers though (im running the latest one)....havent tried the 4820 driver yet...im assuming its the same as the 3820 but ill give it a go....the only time i got the laptop to not freeze is when only the intel driver is installed (no amd yet)...so maybe im having a problem with catalyst shutting down when it switches to the intel chip...possibly due to OCing? im using amdclocktool
oh btw usbhub.sys is a generic code to be thrown according to google -
When you run at factory clocks any problem?
-
yea still freezes with factory clocks....i also just installed the newest ati driver from acer (4820tg version) also still getting the bsod when intel is active...on a side note my windows 7 is the newest version meaning its windows 7 ultimate SP1 upon clean install. but i dont think its actually the intel driver thats the problem because like i said before when i redo the drivers if i install the intel driver first and restart or shutdown before i install the amd driver it works fine...the problem has something to do with having the ati chip active then switching to intel and shutting down
-
could you eventually solve this problem, because I am seeing very much the same issue (bsod almost every night when the 3820tg goes from sleep into hibernate).
Thanks,
3820tg BSOD when i shutdown or restart computer!?!?
