I just downloaded the free version of 3DMark05 and ran it on my Aspire 2012. I got a score of 566. 3DMark scales change every times a new version comes out. To give you an idea of what a 566 is, none of the game tests were over 2.5 fps. I have to give it to the Aspire for even running 3DMark05. Here are my 3DMark scores for the other versions.
3DMark05 - 566
3DMark03 - 2578
3DMark01 - 10080

I just did the same, ie downloaded 05'. Ran it twice got ~650 the first run, second time I got ~560. Was getting around 1-2FPS most of the time, graphics looked great, pity it was a slide show. Oh well, I just glad my lappie can play doom3 and farcry!

AS2012wlmi has 64Mb on board video memory. Last revision of 3DMark requires a little bit more than that. Read this:
Minimum System Recommendations
DirectX 9 compatible graphics adapter with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or later, and graphics memory of 128 MB or above.
...
It is possible that 3DMark05 will run on PCs that do not meet the requirements above, but the benchmark performance may be seriously affected. For example, insufficient video memory will result in texture swapping - this will cause fluctuations during the tests, reducing the reliability of the generated scores.

I wonder if ASUS M6Ne has 128 Mb video and would the difference be caused by that fact? -
I read 3DMark05 needed 128 megs of video memory. Thats why I was pleased the 2012 even ran it.
Here's a screenshot from when I ran 3DMark05

Take a look. It's amazing how far things have come since 3DMark01 -
The ASUS only has 64Mb, thus I too am just happy that my lappie was able to run it !
