Any Ideas anyone?
Its a Travelmate 5720g which I just put a T9300 into, and all four programs read different temperatures? Everest + NHC, then Speedfan + RMClock show similar temps, are these two different sensors in different places?
Which readings should I pay attention to?
I did the 'finger on heatpipe' test after load and although it was hot it certainly wasn't burning hot.
Idle-
Everest - 51c
NHC - 52c
Speedfan - 38c
RMClock - 37c
Load 30mins-
Everest - 76c
NHC - 74c
Speedfan - 58c
RMClock - 58c
Thx!

Remember, the key is to look at your core temperatures. You might also want to look at Core Temp, HWMonitor, or even Real Temp.

Cool thanks, however there seems to be a 5-9c difference in the core temp readings between them
But four of the seven CPU temp programs I now have... seem to read similar so I might go with those readings! -
Temperature monitoring programs are just software, and as such, are not always accurate. Even the thermal diodes on the chips are not always accurate. They can give a ballpark figure, but don't take them to be 100% accurate.

Good point, at least I'm now resonably sure I won't have to mod a heatsink sticking out the bottom of my lappie anyway!
4 different CPU temp monitors display different readings??
