    4011 & backup dvd: I figured it out

    This machine has so much more than I thought it did--like a PC card slot, which I've just turned into a memory card reader. In any case, I could't burn the backup dvd because the burner is double-layer, and I was using regular disks. Back to the store for dual.

    You can burn single layer DVD's with a dual layer drive. Just because it is dual layer doesn't mean that it can only burn dual layers.

    DL discs are very expensive - better off using two SL DVD's, unless you want a single disc.

    Which takes me back to the original problem: it wouldn't burn on a regular dvd or cd...

    I noticed that they were expensive, but it may be worth a shot before I call CDW.
