hi everyone, this is my first post but i'm hoping you guys can help me, i've been lurking for some time now, i'm looking to buy a laptop for college, and low-level mobile gaming, (ie:WoW, UT2k4, EVE) and i am trying to decide between the ACER TravelMate 4072WLCi and the Aspire 5672WLMi the price difference is only about $400 and i'm wondering if the extra money is really going to be worth it, i want the system to not become obsolite for about 2 years or so, and i'd be incredibly happy if i could play things like HL2 or oblivion on it, but it's not really necissary. i'm a Pc Technician at a Computer shop in town, so doing things such as opening it up, and changing the filesystem will not be a problem. if you guys could give me some pointers that would be awesome. thanks.

Here is an offer from amazon.com for an Acer 5672. Now, are you sure there is still a $400 difference? Obviously the 5672 has more power, plus a better video card than the 4072.

    Good luck with your decision.

nice, the 4072 is $689 on newegg.com and the 5672 is $1079 so yea there's still about $400 dollars differance, but the one on amazon doesn't look bad.

Personally, I would go with the 5672. Most of the 5672's specs are better than the 4072, which will keep you going for a while. Also, I'm not sure what games the integrated Intel graphics can handle.

yea that's kinda what i'm leaning towards, and i think i'm going to do, i'd like to paint it too, but i have to see if that voids the warranty first.
