    Hi,
Could anyone point out the major differences between these two models? From what I have been able to find, they're pretty much identical. Any info would be great.
    Thanks

The Aspire 5670 series (3 versions) is more "home" oriented and the TravelMate 4670 series (2 versions) is more "business" oriented. From reading the tech specs, the differences are as follows (please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this):
    • OS - Low-end of the 5670 series has XP Home, all others have XP Pro.
    • Processor - All have Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66 GHz), except the high-end TravelMate has the T2500 (2.0 GHz)
    • RAM - Low-end on both series have 1GB and the high-end have 2GB
    • Hard Drive - 2 versions of 5670 have 100GB, all others have 120GB, but the 4670 series drives have "Disk Anti-Shock Protection"®
    • Optical Drive - Both have a Super-Multi DVD-everything drive, but it's modular on the 4670 series and integrated on the 5670.
    • Screen - Both have a 15.4" WXGA TFT screen, but on the 5670 it has "CrystalBrite Technology"®
    • Graphics - Low-end 4670 has Intel integrated graphics, all the others have an ATI® Mobility™ Radeon® X1400
    • Camera - The 5670 Series has a camera and VoIP software, the 4670 doesn't
    • Bluetooth - 5670 has it, 4670 doesn't (?)
    • 5-in-1 card reader - both have it
    • ExpressCard™/34 slot - 5670 has it,4670 doesn't (?)
    • Buttons - 5670 has extra media-player buttons
    • Dimensions: Both are listed at 14.3" (364.0mm) W x 10.8" (274.8mm) D x 1.1" – 1.4” (28.0mm – 36.3mm) H; 6.6 lb. (3.0kg)
    • Battery:Both are listed with 90-watt AC adapter, Eight-cell lithium ion battery

I'm also having a hard time deciding between these two. I'm going to get the higher end of one or the other, so I'd have the same graphics card, RAM, hard drive size, and XP Pro, so the question I have is how much I should value each of the following:
    • Modular vs. integrated optical drive
    • Disk Anti-Shock Protection
    • Increase in processor speed from 1.66 to 2.0 GHz
    • CrystalBrite screen

The last two are the ones I'm most interested in. I don't really care about the camera or the bluetooth and read somewhere that the disk anti-shock isn't worth using anyway. So, it's looking like my tradeoff is the slower processor for a brighter screen and about $140 in my pocket. Since it'll only be used for everyday Office-type applications, watching movies on the road, and maybe some World of Warcraft, will I really notice the processor speed difference? And does anyone have experience with the difference (if any) between the screen with CrystalBrite and without?

Also, are there any other unlisted differences we should be aware of?
