    Hello-
I hope someone can help me. I offered to replace Vista with XP on my friend's Aspire 4710Z and I am in real trouble with it.
After fighting a bit with the audio driver I finally got everything working. Shortly after that, something terrible happened. The Ethernet adapter, wireless adapter and CD/DVD-ROM drive stopped working. None appear in the Device Manager listing. I tried re-installing the Broadcom Ethernet software but it did not come back. I then tried to install an a new version of the Chipset software (Intel 8.4.0.1016). I have tried scanning for hardware changes several times and nothing comes up. Its not detecting these devices for some reason.
My next plan was to re-install XP/SP2 again, but the BIOS cannot detect the CD/DVD-ROM driver either. :(
It seems there is a serious problem. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be truly grateful. I am running out of ideas.

    Thanks!
